You pay what you get. Of our 2 week travel in Europe; this was our least favorite hotel. Very small and dated. It’s next to the train station, which is a plus and staff is friendly.

Comfortable bed. Mix up ordering our breakfast. There was a new arrangement bedding in. Some items missing from the room servicing. Only 1 tea bag and bottle of water. Friendly staff.

Als wir in das als Studio bezeichnete Zimmer kamen, war das Klo verdreckt und die Klobürste war so verklebt mit " man will es gar nicht wissen" daß sie gar nicht aus der Halterung zu bekommen war. Für ein 2 Personenstudio ist es winzig. Da hätte ich in anderen Hotels schon größere Einzelzimmer. Es gibt eine winzige Küchenecke die lediglich Geschirr , sehr wenig billigstes Besteck, 2 Tassen, 2 Gläser, einen Topf und eine Pfanne enthielt. Kein Schneidebrett, kein Messer keine Haken für Handtücher weder in der Küche noch im Bad. In den Ecken am Bett und im Bad neben der Toilette ist es verdreckt. Das Geschirrtuch war nass und verdreckt da der dreckige Schwamm darauf lag. Mit Murren und Knurren brachte man uns nachdem ich mich 3x beschwert hatte, eine neue Klobürste. Schrank gibt es keinen, dafür eine ca. 35 cm breite Stange mit ein paar Kleiderbügeln. Dafür lebt man dann halt mal komfortabel ne Woche aus dem Koffer.Heute hat es 30 Grad und wir stellten fest die Klimaanlage funktioniert nicht. Das sei bekannt, man würde uns einen Ventilator bringen. 3 Stunden später kam ein hoher Drehventilator, als ich sagte er sei kaputt da dessen Fuss gebrochen war also ständig drohte umzufallen, wurde mir gesagt er würde funktionieren. Im "Studio" für 2 Personen muss man sich zum Essen aufs Bett setzen da es keinen wirklichen Tisch gibt außer einer kleinen Konsole auf die nicht mal 2 Teller passen. Es gibt einen winzigen Tisch auf dem Balkon. Der Balkon ist das einzig schöne hier. Das Zimmer wäre sonst für 2 zu klein. Für Koffer gibt es eine Ablage, bei 2 Personen heißt das ein Koffer steht auf dem Boden oder einem Hocker, der zwar für ein Bordcase etwas klein ist aber grad noch so geht. Das Frühstück ist einfach aber ausreichend, die Croissants aus der Tüte sind schlicht peinlich in Frankreich. Göttinnen sei Dank gibt's ein paar Meter weiter eine Bäckerei. Das Servicepersonal kommt ab 10 Gästen beim Frühstück nicht mehr hinterher und man muss ständig nach allem Fragen. Es wird damit geworben es gäbe Spiele, als wir danach fragten konnte man nicht mal Karten finden. Das Personal ist nicht sehr motiviert, und wenn man um etwas bittet , genervt. Insgesamt keine tolle Erfahrung und eher eine bessere Pension und kein 3 Sterne Hotel. Die Afro französische Dame die unser Zimmer putzte war der einzige Lichtblick im Service des Avalon. Freundlich zugewandt und fleißig. Das WLAN ist super !

À fuir ! Une expérience catastrophique.

Nous avons séjourné à l’hôtel Avalon à Paris et ce fut une énorme déception. La chambre, située sous les combles au 6e étage, était étouffante, sans climatisation – inadmissible en plein été. Et pour ne rien arranger, l’ascenseur ne va que jusqu’au 5e étage : il faut monter un étage complet à pied avec ses bagages, ce qui n’est jamais mentionné à la réservation.

La propreté est plus que douteuse : poussière, salle de bain vétuste, moquette douteuse… Bref, c’est sale. L’hôtel est vétuste, mal entretenu, et tout y semble à bout de souffle. Aucune isolation phonique, on entend tout ce qui se passe dans les couloirs et à l’extérieur.

Pour le prix, c’est une vraie arnaque. Le manque de confort et de considération pour les clients est flagrant. Je déconseille fortement, et je n’y remettrai jamais les pieds.

The receptionists Noémie and Nesrine were really helpful during check-in and throughout the stay. Good location in terms of access to the metro and walking into the city. Philippe was very helpful in organising the Paris cruise – highly recommend buying the tickets from reception before going.

Although staff were attentive, we were told that cleaners would not be cleaning our room due to the “short stay” (3 nights). It would have been nice for someone to come at least once. A fridge in the room would also have been a nice touch.

The Hotel Avalon Cosy was perfect for us. ||-The staff here are so very friendly and helpful! ||-Our room was number 35. It was small, but very clean and had a very comfortable bed. |-The WIFI in the room is very fast.||-The cleaning staff are very hardworking and this shows in just how clean the whole building is.||-The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Garre Du Nord train station. This was very helpful because this station is big and linked to the trains and Metro.||-There are numerous small supermarkets, greengrocers and bread shops nearby that sell fresh bread, pastries, wine, beer, cheese, veg and fruit (yes this is obvious, but if you want a picnic, the shops here are perfect).||-Breakfast is worth it. It is self service and mostly continental. There were baked beans and scrambled eggs too. Lots of pastries and the breakfast area is spotlessly clean.||-There are bars and restaurants within easy walking distance that were wonderful.||Just a few random tips:||-Be vigilant outside Garre Du Nord station (and most stations in Paris) as there are MANY addicts, homeless, gangs and people suffering with mental health problems. Some are begging and it may be intimidating for you. This is typical of many cities around the world in our experience, but be mindful.||-Rent an E-Bike and get around easily. That said, traffic, bikes and pedestrians make for a fiery trip!||The Avalon Cosy is a super location because it is so close to one of the main train stations/Metro station. ||Final thoughts:||Hard to think of how it could be better. All we can think of is that a fridge in our room would have been very useful.

This hotel has beautiful and clean rooms in the heart of Paris. The customer service was absolutely superb. The front desk staff would offer to make me a coffee each day. When I brought food in they set up plates and then cleaned after I was done, they would not allow me to do any of the work. This is highly uncommon in the US for hotel staff and was greatly appreciated. Jeremie, Martin, and Samanta were fantastic hosts and if you should choose to stay here you will not be disappointed by their level of service. Thanks again!

Great Location & Service, Cozy but Compact

This hotel boasts an excellent location, just a stone's throw from Gare du Nord railway station, making arrivals and departures incredibly convenient. We also found 2-3 metro stations within a pleasant 7-12 minute walk, offering easy access to explore Paris. Plus, having a McDonald's nearby was a handy bonus! A huge plus was the ability to get an early check-in, which was greatly appreciated after an overnight journey. The room cleaning service was also very good, keeping our space tidy throughout our stay.

The rooms, while clean, were on the smaller side with quite dim lighting, which made some tasks a bit challenging. The washroom was also very compact; I'd caution anyone over 85 kgs might find it a squeeze to use comfortable.

On the bright side, the breakfast was a decent spread, offering a good variety including yogurts, dry fruits, nuts, jam, fresh fruits, various breads, boiled eggs, ham, beef salami, chicken sausages, juices, and coffee. It was a good way to start the day.

Overall, if location and great service are your top priorities and you don't mind cozy quarters, this hotel is a solid choice.

Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Freundlichkeit des Personals. Alle sind sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Auch die Arbeitsatmosphäre untereinander scheint sehr gut zu sein. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Lage war für uns sehr praktisch.

Het is simpel maar netjes, en het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
Om een paar dagen Parijs te bekijken is dit een prima hotel voor. Op loop afstand van de trein, en van alle andere vervoersmiddelen.

L'hotel in sé è carino, le camere sono abbastanza belle, molto fornite.
L'ascensore è molto stretto perché è un palazzo storico, le scale sono quasi impraticabili perché sono a chiocciola anche se abbastanza larghe.
Se si ha la camera al sesto piano devi fare un piano a piedi perché l'ascensore arriva fino al 5°.
La colazione è ben fornita.
Il caffè lo sconsiglio vivamente.
Alla reception non tutte le operatrici sono all'altezza.
La posizione dell' hotel è vicino ad alcune stazioni, che però sono colme di persone poco raccomandabili, occhio.
Occhio anche a chi percorrere la pista ciclabile, corrono all'impazzata con le bici.

A beautiful hotel with very high-quality service at the center of Paris. I chose this location because it was very convenient relative to Gare du Nord, and I also wanted to treat myself to a more luxury experience with a Parisienne balcony, etc. I did run into several concerns during my stay such as the wi-fi going out, but the hotel had a backup router arranged within hours and the regular wifi fixed the next day. Very pleased with the level of service. I will say as a single female though, I had reservations walking around alone in the immediate vicinity at night though- just felt a bit on edge and elected to just stay in for that reason. Nonetheless, I would recommend to future travellers if you find this would be a good fit for you.

Great service, kind and accommodating staff! Awesome breakfast! Incredible location! Close to the train station. Yes, the rooms are small, but it's Paris, of course it's small. It's literally cozy! If you want to experience Paris and take the metro everywhere, to all the sites. This hotel is perfect! And do yourself a favor, stretch for a balcony room, so beautiful.

Super hôtel à quelques minutes à pied de la Gare du Nord et du parking d'Anvers. Chambres agréables et propres, l'hôtel a la durabilité en tête de ses priorités et le personnel est très sympathique.||||Il y a 40 ans, nous avons séjourné ici pendant notre lune de miel. Aujourd'hui, exactement 40 ans plus tard, nous avons été accueillis avec une rose et une carte personnelle pour le jour de notre mariage. Nous avons vraiment apprécié ce geste très attentionné.||

We were extremely disappointed with our stay. Upon arriving at the hotel, we immediately noticed that the beds were dirty, with leftover clothing fibers and hair from the previous guest. We kindly asked the staff to replace the bedsheets around 2 PM, and they assured us it would be taken care of. However, when we returned at 10 PM, the room was still in the exact same condition — the dirty bedsheets remained untouched.||||We called the front desk again, and they offered us a new room. Although it was not the twin room we had originally booked, we decided to settle in for the night and asked them to separate the beds the next day. Once again, they promised to make the adjustment, but when we returned the second night, nothing had been done.||||Unfortunately, the broken promises didn’t stop there. We also requested that they refill the empty shampoo and body wash dispensers, but despite repeated assurances, they were still empty when we checked out.||||This experience reflects a serious miscommunication between the hotel’s teams that we sincerely hope management will address. To make matters worse, both the bathroom and the room were filled with black mold — a major health hazard.||||We booked the most expensive room category and paid a premium price, but instead of a luxury experience, we felt scammed. We do not recommend this hotel based on the service, cleanliness, and overall management issues we experienced.

Old buildings

Great room for our over night stay between end of river cruise and train trip. Great location for Metro and intercity train travel. Not the biggest of rooms but perfectly adequate. Complementary coffee bar in the foyer was a bonus.

Hotel is well located, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful decor and clean. Only one thing is rooms are small however perfect for our stay. Thanks everyone at Avalon Cosy Hotel for making our time in Paris so enjoyable!

Needed a stay near the train station. Cannot get much closer than this. It's a very noisy street but the room supplies you with ear plugs. It's just very occupied with traffic and police vehicles nonstop.

They are many more nice hotels in similar locations with better conditions.

Un superbe hôtel, avec un personnel qui est super gentil et avec le service de bagagerie qui est super pratique ! De plus, directement à l'hôtel nous pouvons par exemple réserver une excursion avec le bateau mouche. Le petit-déjeuner est excellent, rien à dire. Le seul petit bémol c'est qu'il faisait extrêmement froid dans la chambre dans la soirée et ce fut un peu embêtant.

Only choose if you are not afraid to destroy your ideal charming image of Paris. Room doesn't look like what we chose online. Toilet was broken. Cover was unclean... Corridor is dirty and very old. Only advantage is that it's near Gare du nord.
