The history of Courances goes back 5 centuries: the château is in keeping with 17th-century architecture, and the park is well worth a visit. Estate open April to November, weekends and public holidays, 2pm to 6pm. Château interior closed in July and August. Guided tours. Catering available. Free for children under 7. Adult: €14 (park+chateau). Reduced rate 12€ adult full park only 12€ / reduced 9€. Guided tour.

The Château et Parc de Courances is located in the heart of the Gâtinais region, in an estate that covers 75 hectares. The castle, built in the 17th century by Claude I Gallard, was restored at the end of the 19th century by Baron Samuel de Haber, a rich Swiss banker. With the architect Hyppolite Destailleur, they began a major restoration work and added important elements such as the famous horseshoe-shaped staircase and the red bricks on all the facades, typical of the Louis XIII period. Today, the castle is home to four generations of the Ganay family, and can be visited every hour. As for its park, it is above all a Renaissance water garden. Labelled as a Remarkable Garden, you can enjoy this place in spring, summer and autumn. Transportation on demand is available for visitors from the region. Note that the domain is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Salon au thé au top et fait maison
Tarif du parc seul un peu cher car le jardin japonais est bien entretenu et magnifique. Les bassins et cascades méritent un peu plus d'entretien. Une partie non entretenu est clôturé, on se demande à quoi ça servait ?
Petit bémol le château n'est pas visitable en juillet/août, dommage car c'est là qu'il y a le plus de touristes.
Balade à faire, je recommande ????
