With each Ascension, Étretat celebrates the sea. In the streets, a boat procession carried by sailors and followed by masses. Banners at the head and floating in the wind, the flock heads towards the sea. The priest blesses the sea and the sailors, and sometimes does not hesitate to wet the jersey!
