SAINT-ANTOINE COLLEGIATE CHURCH
The Saint-Antoine church church dates back to the th century. Jean III of Chalon-Arlay then founded a collectivity of canons for the city of Funnel. It was built at the location of a th century chapel, which left a few traces, depending on the priory of Mièges. The neo-classical facade was built after a fire in the th century. The interior has preserved its flamboyant Gothic style with the beautiful massive nave, 32 metres long, built a few years after the choir and its apse to three parts, typical of the Gothic comtois. Stalls, a chair of carved wood and a child Virgin in Polychrome Stone also date back to the th century. Near the choir, the chapel of the Chalon-Arlay is dedicated to the Blessed Loyse of Savoy, a niece of King Louis XI who married Hugues III of Chalon in 1479 and stood up for her selflessness, generosity and piety. The church houses various classified paintings, probably dating from the th century, but the most remarkable curiosity of the site is the magnificent work of embroidery carried out in the th by the nuns of the Couvent convent.
