All these guided tours are subject to a minimum of 3 participants. All year round, tours are offered from 5 people (adults), and on reservation: you will leave, accompanied, to discover the emblematic places of the Ledonian city and the Jura hillside area, whose little secrets are often ignored. Tailor-made visits can also be organised for small groups of 5 to 10 people.
OFFICE DE TOURISME DE LONS-LE-SAUNIER - CÔTEAUX DU JURA
Read moreThe Tourist Office offers a wide range of services to help visitors prepare for their stay, including information on accommodation, restaurants, activities and ticketing. Tourist advisors are on hand to offer invaluable advice. Lons-le-Saunier is a spa town, but it's also a heritage city, with its arcades and the home of The Laughing Cow. It is also the capital of the Jura region, and nearby visitors can discover the vineyards or the listed village of Baume-les-Messieurs, with its caves, abbey and waterfall.
SORTING CENTER OF THE JURA
Read moreThe Jura pioneered the establishment of the uniform collection and sorting system throughout the department, before it expanded at national level in the 1980 s. Many cities have long been the «eco-citizens' commune». The recyclable waste of the inhabitants, grouped in a single blue bin per family, is collected "door-to-door", then manually differentiated at the sorting center and then recycled in some areas, creating jobs. As for the contents of the gray lid trash, it is incinerated at the adjacent plant. The heat of the incineration is recovered in particular to heat collective housing and the Aqua 'Rel center of Lons-le-Saunier. Visit places where garbage is sorted and incinerated? What a funny idea! However, the staff of the CDTOM welcome an average of 3,000 visitors per year. The free visit of the centers is instructive in many ways. The processes of waste management in the Jura and all facilities can be discovered. Documents are also available through the site and social network.
RED MULLET MUSEUM
Read moreIn the heart of the city, under the arcades, the Mullet de Mullet's native apartment was returned and evokes, through explanatory panels, its major work, La Marseillaise, and its life, from birth in Lons-le-Saunier in 1760 until its death in 1836 in Choisy-le-Roi. You discover many original documents, personal objects: his sword, the violin bow of La Marseillaise… This place of memories is part of the Juramusées network. .
HOTEL GOD
Read moreThe beautiful grids that keep entry are one of the particularities of this former hospital. Built between 1735 and 1745 by the architect Galezot, it is now possible to visit it in summer. Those who know the St. Jacques de Besançon hospital will find a certain resemblance between the two buildings. A magnificent staircase is inside. Furniture, paintings, paintings, old instruments and potions… Apothicairerie hides many small treasures that say a lot about the evolution of the apothecary profession.
