A secluded area and a waterfall form the setting for the Castel Damandre hotel in Les Planches, run by the Mathieu couple. To make many envious.
Nestled at the end of a small valley, this mill, now a charming hotel, enjoys an exceptional setting. Its exposed stone walls stand next to the splendid waterfall. Only the lapping of the water disturbs the calm and silence. The 14 rooms and 4 bubbling bath suites have kept a rustic charm (with four-poster beds for some) but a refined and modern decoration. Some have balconies overlooking the waterfall. This Castel is also a restaurant.

Endroit magnifique, les chambres sont ordinaires. Le repas est bon mais un peu cher. L'hôtel a organisé une dégustation d'Arbois avec un vigneron excellent. Le petit déjeuner n'est pas exceptionnel et il manque du personnel.
The suite is recommended for those who want including us to very spend moments with a great comfort. Le Jacuzzi and large Italian shower sets the tone. It lacks just slippers for the exit of the bath.
The site is exceptional in this high Jura and the owners managed to create a height. The buildings are and have a lot of charm. the rooms with four-poster beds and modern comforts did not disappoint us. It is relaxing and pool contributes to relaxation. The small lunch with these cobblestones at the entrance is beautiful. A small flat for pastry however.
