LES JEUDIS POLYPHONIQUES

The churches of the upper town of Bonifacio, on Thursdays and sometimes Mondays, resound with a program of concerts of polyphonic and Corsican songs. These polyphonic songs of religious origin(A pulifunia Corsa) became little by little village songs or songs of shepherds who during their stays of transhumance in mountain intoned songs whose contents were articulated around facts of the everyday life, before becoming a means of transmission of culture, tradition and history. Songs of revolt were added to the repertoire.
