This site is a jewel of preserved nature where a great diversity of flora flourishes.

A must when staying in Ajaccio! Ìsuli Sanguinarii, the inimitable site of the Sanguinaires Islands, with its red porphyry rocks standing out against a bed of dark diorite and grey granite, is a jewel of preserved nature, where a wide variety of flora flourishes. Rare plants such as the impressive arum mange-mouche (fly-eating arum) can be found here, and are not to be found anywhere else on the island of Beauty. Colonies of seabirds nest here just as peacefully. Among them are the Yellow-legged Gull, the Laughing Gull, Audouin's Gull and the Ashy Shearwater.
The sun's crimson rays and blood-red reflections are a sight to behold on these four red and black islets, which lie off the coast of the Pointe de la Parata and its Genoese tower. Their respective names sound like those of mythical heroes: Mezu Mare, Isolotto, Cala d'Alga and Porri form the glittering quartet of the Sanguinaires! Known as frankenias, the pink-flowered plants littering their soil and turning brightly incarnate depending on the season, certainly have something to do with their bloody patronymic. You can discover them by boat from the Tino Rossi port, allowing two hours or half a day in high season, with a stop for a swim, shore shots and a return trip at dusk along the north shore, where you'll come across the Terre Sacrée, Tino Rossi's residence, the marine cemetery, the Greek chapel and the citadel. Classified as a Natura 2000 site, this unique location was awarded the prestigious "Grand site de France" label six years ago.

Très belle balade à faire au coucher de soleil. Le sentier est accessible à tous mais il faut quand même prévoir des bonnes chaussures, comme partout en Corse
