Michel Rocourt runs a 6-hectare Chardonnay vineyard exclusively in the Mesnil-sur-Oger and Vertus areas. A tour of the winery provides a wealth of information on traditional winemaking techniques, the contemporary cellar, the stainless steel vats and the pneumatic press. Visitors then have the chance to taste wines from the range. Special mention should be made of the "Grand Vintage", a beautifully mature wine. The vineyards are spread over two terroirs: the Côte des Blancs, classified as a Grand Cru, and the Sézannais hillsides. Respectful of the environment, the vineyard uses integrated viticulture. It is with pleasure and passion that the Pertois family will show you around their facilities, including the property's cellars with their thousands of bottles of a unique cru. In fact, Maison Pertois is the only one to vinify the Grand Cru Blanc de Blanc du Mesnil.

The prestigious Maison Pierre is located in the village of Mesnil-sur-Oger, and today farms just over 18 hectares of Chardonnay in some of the finest crus. Discover the special cuvée "Les Chétillons", the estate's most representative wine. This racy, mineral 2006 vintage has won rave reviews from the press: Bettane & Dessauve, 17.5/20; Vinous (Antonio Galloni), 95 points; (Richard Juhlin), 93 points; Wine Advocate (D. Shilknecht), 94 points; Wine Spectator, 93 points; IWC (S. Tanzer), 94 points. A marvel!

At the heart of this house, founded in 1872, expertise has been handed down from father to son and daughter for 8 generations. Today, Séverine and Caroline Launois continue the adventure, producing a fine range of champagnes. A particular favorite is the oeil de Perdrix cuvée, with its spicy nose and complex mouthfeel. Their website also showcases the finest nearby monuments: an enchanting château and an educational museum. The estate also offers harvest days.

Michèle and Delphine welcome you in all simplicity to the Maison Cazals which was the country house of Léon Bourgeois, former President of the Council, Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1920. During the visit, which lasts about 2 hours, this pair will tell you the history of this house since its foundation in 1897. The tasting takes place in the living room or in the garden in Oger when the weather permits. You will discover Bulles de Craie, Carte Or Grand Cru, Années Folles, Rosée, Vive Grand Cru, Millésime, Rosé XV, the Chapelle du Clos and the Clos Cazals.

For three generations now, this fine domaine has been producing Grands Crus Blanc de Blancs champagnes in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Champagne Philippe Gonet is one of the finest estates on the Côte des Blancs. Now it's Chantal and Pierre Gonet's turn to breathe their vision into it: to relentlessly explore all the nuances and minerality of their favorite terroir: Mesnil-sur-Oger. The 4.5-hectare vineyard is cultivated responsibly. The Roy Soleil Grand Cru (aged 6 months in oak barrels) and Extra-Brut 3210 are two signature wines, offering freshness and length worthy of the greatest champagnes.

This 15 hectare vineyard is mainly made up of vines located on the Côte des Blancs, in the crus of Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Sézanne, Glannes, Mancy and Cuis. The selection of the best plots of land allows us to elaborate champagnes of character where the typicity of each terroir is expressed. The culture is done in reasoned viticulture, with ageing in cellar from 2 to 8 years. The estate produces 130,000 bottles per year, most of which are sold abroad.

This reputed house offers a high level of craftsmanship and an exemplary quality/price ratio on all its vintages. In the heart of the Côte des Blancs, this family makes superb Chardonnays. The vineyard covers about 20 hectares, 15 of which are Grand Cru. A permanent research of maturity and balance of the wines is the watchword of the house, first by a rigorous selection of the grapes. The very recent and modern winery allows for a meticulous and optimal follow-up of the wines from the harvest to the bottling.

Jean-Pierre and his son Julien work a beautiful "Grand Cru" classified vineyard in Mesnil-sur-Oger. Julien and his wife Sarah have made a historic turn by becoming harvesters and handlers in a family that was originally a cooperative. For them, there is no compromise with quality, champagne is a timeless luxury product that they have to elaborate from the very beginning of the harvest to the decoration of their 4 exceptional vintages.

Founded in 1937, this cooperative is nestled in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, where Chardonnay flourishes. The brand's east-facing terroir allows this white grape to express one of its finest facets. The range comprises 8 wines and a ratafia. Our favorite is Le Mesnil cuvée Héritage, which will take you on a journey through the history of its terroir to reveal all its nuances. This Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay) Grand Cru "heptalésimé" is measured in extra brut. Multi-primed, this limited edition is perfect with lobster!

There are champagne houses like that, which evolve without losing their way or becoming discredited. This is the case of the Vergnon house, a small property of 5 hectares, which has been cultivating its chardonnay in grand cru for five generations now and which, under the impulse of Didier and Brigitte, the children of the family, and the oenologist Christophe Constant, produces a quality champagne, scrupulous and generous. Favored by a beautiful exposure and planted in an ideal terroir, the grapes bring to the different cuvées all their specificity.

Salon champagne is considered one of the greatest champagnes in the world and it is also one of the rarest with only 37 cuvées in 100 years! More affordable, the Delamotte champagne is also of great interest: the Blanc de Blancs cuvée, the stylish signature of the house, the Brut cuvée, an elegant and round champagne, with a generous length, the vintage Blanc de Blancs cuvée (currently 2014) and the Rosé cuvée, a very nice work in the finesse and fruit.
