Guided tour to discover the abbey where Saint Bernard lived, one of the best kept in France.

It was Saint Bernard who came to Clairvaux to build the famous abbey nine centuries ago, where he lived until his death in 1153. Today, very long walls, in successive rows, forbid any view on the vestiges of these former splendors. Clairvaux is one of the best guarded centers in France. However, the Ministry of Culture has taken over the space of the main historical buildings, which are accessible to visitors during guided tours.

Une super visite historique menée par notre guide passionnée, qui transmet pendant cette heure et demi son savoir et son amour pour ce lieu si atypique où cohabitent plusieurs siècles d’histoire. Toutes les strates et l’évolution architecturale ne sont pas évidentes à comprendre, mais les explications de notre guide nous ont tout de suite plongées dans l’historique et l’atmosphère du lieu. Nous y reviendrons pour voir l’évolution de l’abbaye ! Merci encore
