Drappier champagnes do not just offer you incomparable wines, they also propose to enter a place steeped in history, the disturbing strangeness: its cellars of the th century, the objective of visiting them alone, inescapable by their beauty and symmetry. In 1116 Saint Bernard imports from Burgundy the black Engineer, ancestor of Pinot, and made several cellars, especially in Urville, properties attached to the great Abbey of Clairvaux that he founded. Upon his death, in 1153, wine production was around 600 000 litres of wine, mainly shipped in barrels, called: " bar wine ". Later, the Drappier house bought the mansions caves. Today it houses a few famous vintages and its largest "vials" (Balthazar, Jeroboam, Melchisédech, etc.).
