CHURCH OF SAINT-PIERRE-ÈS-LIENS
The Église Saint Pierre was built in the 12th century in the Romanesque style. There are not many elements dating back to that time because it has been reworked over the centuries. She became the capital of the organ in Aquitaine thanks to Francis Chapelet, organist and native of Brittany, who was looking for a concert instrument for this church. He got back the organ of the Saint Mathieu de Colmar temple stored after a fire. This organ of 23 pipes dating back to 1842 has been completely restored in the church choir and decorated. On both sides of the sideboard, Roger Chapelet did two paintings on the left, a pond of Double and on the right the church of Ménestérol, and two flower pots. Francis Chapelet created an auditorium in his own house where he installed organs of very different origin. Since September 2012, the 10th organ has arrived in the private chapel of the hospital centre of Vauclaire (former Chartreuse). Given the large number of organs (10 in total without counting the barrel organ) Brittany is called the organ capital in Aquitaine. Many concerts are organised mainly in summer in the church and in the auditorium. Ménestérol also has a nice Romanesque church that is worth a visit.
