THE DOLPHIN FOUNTAIN

In 1660 Louis XIV erected two fountains in Sedan in honour of the birth of the dolphin: one place of arms, the other place of the Castle, opposite the Princes Palace. History tells us that wine was poured to the people on the day of his baptism. It was rebuilt in the th century at the foot of the castle, while retaining the same name. The fountain's water comes from the mouth of a carved male face.
