A blacksmith since 1987, Jean-Pierre Et, specialized in the manufacture of specific pliers and pincers, now exercises his art in the manufacture of knives. It has restored life to the inescapable Ardennes knife, the knife to "ployette". This emblematic knife from the Ardennes was thus reserved for a few Chasseurs hunters. All the knives are completely shaped by hand, the blade is forged in a steel of excellence, on the sleeve it is often made of wood or woods. A graduate of the European Higher Institute of the Enluminure and the Manuscript of Angers and the European Centre for Research and Training in the Glass Arts of Vannes-le-Châtel, Valérie Stevenin-Boizet creates its stained glass shop and illuminations «Ardenne Colours» in the High Rivers in 2008. She works there and animates beginners or internships for beginners and insiders. All the styles of illuminations are covered (Carolingian, Romanesque, Gothic…). Techniques taught are traditional techniques of medieval enluminure: parchment work, gold leaf installation, colour preparation with traditional pigments and lients. The internship is an opportunity to achieve a enluminure on parchment using medieval techniques: learning of the gold leaf on traditional teeth, preparation of colors (pigments and medieval tempera) and learning painting techniques.
