TALCY CASTLE
Castle with typical architecture of the late Middle Ages preserved, which hosted famous women, including Catherine de Medici.
This pretty château, built in the spirit of the Middle Ages, has preserved its interior decor, vegetable garden and dovecote. But alongside its remarkable architecture, it is above all the women who have left their mark on this place. Cassandre Salviati inspired 182 sonnets by Pierre de Ronsard, including the famous "Mignonne, allons voir si la rose". Alfred de Musset is one of her descendants. One of his nieces, Diane, became the muse of war leader and poet Agrippa d'Aubigné. Catherine de Médicis organized an unsuccessful meeting between the belligerents during the Wars of Religion.
