FEDAL CASTLE
11th century castle with remains of the circular stone keep, linked to the history between the Plantagenets and the Kingdom of France.
This 11th-century fortress, covering 4.5 hectares, features the imposing remains of the keep, representative of the first generation of circular stone keeps (in this case, flint), with its astonishing living quarters. The château has witnessed the struggles between the Plantagenet family and the Kingdom of France, hosting the meeting between Thomas Becket and Henry II, King of England, and the battle between Philip Augustus and Richard the Lionheart. Educational panels punctuate the self-guided tour. Visits by the tourist office are also possible.
