This castle is a jewel of architecture and nature, born from the dream of François I and inspired by Leonardo da Vinci.
Chambord, a jewel of the Renaissance, was the brainchild of François I, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci. With its famous double staircase and 5,440 hectares of enclosed parkland, it is a masterpiece of architecture and nature. Thanks to the Histopad, visitors can relive the 16th-century château, while numerous guided tours open up inaccessible rooms. Chambord was conceived as a hunting lodge, and was rarely inhabited, but the National Estate fascinates visitors with its mystery and scenery. Since 2017, its formal gardens have been bringing a grandiose perspective back to life. The park, home to an abundance of wildlife, can be explored on foot, by bike or during the roaring season. A timeless place.
