CLOCK MUSEUM
The ideal museum for fans of antique watchmaking, featuring a wide variety of watchmaker's tools and objects.
Created in 1995 by Mme Dubernet, daughter of watchmaker Georges Lemoine, the Musée Horloger, run by passionate volunteers, traces the history of popular watchmaking over the last two centuries. In a reconstructed workshop, antique tools and clocks evoke the interiors of yesteryear. Among the treasures on display are a Napoleonic alarm clock, the ingenious Pendastrava and the Lorris bell tower clock (1861). the "Atelier à Pendule", open on Thursdays, introduces visitors to the techniques involved in restoring and conserving antique timepieces. Audioguides in four languages are available for all audiences, from the casual visitor to the enlightened amateur.
