NOTRE-DAME-DE-BETHLEHEM CHAPEL
Chapel of Our Lady of Bethlehem, with a remarkable altarpiece, a central painting, stained glass windows and a century black Madonna.
A gilded wooden statuette, dating from the end of the 15th century, representing Our Lady of Bethlehem gave the name to this chapel which quickly became a place of pilgrimage. It has a remarkable altarpiece by the sculptor Gilles Guérin, dated 1650. The central painting, the Virgin and Child, shows Louis XIII and Anne of Austria "peasants". The stained glass windows evoke Clovis and Clotilde, Pope Gregory II and Saint Michael. Every year, on Whit Monday and on September 8, people go on pilgrimage.
