Camping in the green and wooded countryside of Hautefort with beautiful views of the castles.
Jolanda and Théo Van Os welcome guests to their family-run campsite in the lush, wooded Périgord Noir countryside, 3 km from Hautefort. The pitches (3 nights minimum), some with terraces, others near the swimming pool, on the edge of the forest, or offering beautiful views of the castles, give you the feeling of being alone in the world, in the middle of nature. On certain evenings, you'll be able to see deer or hear the hoot of an owl. A comfortable, self-contained 2-person, three-star gîte is also available for rent.

Theo and Jolanda couldn't have been lovelier hosts, really accommodating. This was our 15th site whilst touring, and was by far the best. If you're looking for a peaceful, adult only site which is beautifully kept and immaculate facilities in the countryside then this is the place for you. They offer their guest's once a week a home cooked meal which enables guests to get to know each. We would highly recommend it as it's restaurant standard and great fun. We arrived as guest's and left feeling like friends ( I did try to get them to adopt me!) We wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.

Voor mensen die een zeer strak geregisseerde camping zoeken is dit waarschijnlijk een prima plek. Voor iemand die gewend is aan wat vrijheid en zelf te denken gaat dit inderdaad niet werken. Er zijn hier te veel regels, hekjes, kettingen, afvalscheidingsprocedures enz.
Het huisje is goed onderhouden, compleet en schoon.
De ligging is ongelukkig, direct aan de toegangsweg van de camping met achter het huisje een kippenren inclusief een zeer gedreven haan die de dag erg vroeg begint.
Privacy is hierdoor erg beperkt en het terras is een betonnen betegelde verhoging en het uitzicht op het toiletgebouw van de camping is niet inspirerend. Bed is erg hard en de overlast van de haan is groot, slecht geslapen.
Voor mij zelf was dit een 2 sterren ervaringen en we zijn ook 4 dagen eerder vertrokken.
