Read moreClose to the confluence of the Loire and the Vienne, Pascal and Alain Lorieux's estate is located between two appellations. 20 hectares of Cabernet Franc vines: 12 hectares in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil and 8 hectares in Chinon (Cravant-les-Coteaux), on a clay-siliceous soil. They produce three vintages of each appellation, including a Chinon rosé. Concerned about preserving the biodiversity of the territory, the duo limits the use of chemicals to a maximum. They practice grassing and regularly intervene manually in the vines.

In 1985, Laurent Mabileau settled in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil on a 28-hectare vineyard spread over the Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil and Bourgueil appellations. He works exclusively with the king grape variety of the region, Cabernet Franc (locally called "Breton"). The vines are planted at a rate of 4,500 vines per hectare and are managed using sustainable agriculture. They produce a wine of character, fruity, supple and generous.
