The old Cabignats bridge is located at the bottom of a biblical street. Its name comes from the deformation of the Escabignat family, rich merchants who contributed to its construction. On either side of the bridge embracing the Indre, we have a beautiful view over some old tanneries, which was flourishing in La Châtre. These buildings were dryers, equipped with wooden balconies and glazes to expose the tanned skins, to make them dry.
