PINCIO TERRACE
Read moreFrom the right of the church Santa Maria del Popolo, you can climb to the Jardin garden at the edge of Villa Borghese. The climb to the Pincio is stiff and little recommended to the tired or disabled tourist, but the view from the lookout is striking, especially in the morning, in the lift. On the Terrasse terrace, a road goes down to La Trinité-des-Monts, passing at the foot of the Villa Medici.

CORTILE DELLA PIGNA
Read moreThe "cour de la pomme de pain" (pigna) is the first courtyard to be accessed at the beginning of the visit. Michelangelo created the niche that houses the famous giant bronze bread apple. This one, monumental, dates from the 1st or 2nd century. It was a fountain from which water flowed through the holes in the gables. In the centre of the Pigna courtyard, we see a modern work, Sphere with sphere, by Arnaldo Pomodoro, created in 1990. It replaces the statue of Saint Peter, now visible in the gardens of the City. All around the courtyard, Roman antiquities.
