FOREVER 21

Fashion store
4.8/5
4 reviews

This ready-to-wear chain created in Los Angeles in 1984 offers a wide selection of brands at desirable prices, as the clothes on the shelves are often taken from previous years' collections. As for the Forever 21 line, it distinguishes itself by a very urban style that emphasizes prints and bright colors. There is little clothing for men but a large selection of shoes at unbeatable prices for them. A department store that is reminiscent of H&M, and that will appeal especially to teenage girls.

BEACON’S CLOSET

Fashion store

If you're wondering where the Williamsburg hipsters find their lumberjack shirts, faded slim jeans and vintage T-shirts, look no further. This huge clothing store is cheap and of good quality. Between the boots, glasses, handbags and coats, all sorted by color, you can get lost for several hours! Friperie obliges, all the clothes and accessories sold here are second-hand products, but if you look carefully, you can find the rare pearl at unbeatable prices.

ABERCROMBIE & FITCH

Fashion store
4.3/5
7 reviews

A controversial and often criticized brand in the United States (its president, very megalomaniac, refuses that the "ugly ones" wear his clothes...) but which still appeals as much to American and European teenagers. In New York, Abercrombie has chosen a huge space with the appearance of a nightclub: subdued or even dark lights, black and minimalist decoration, top model sellers, music at full speed, and clothes highlighted as works of art. Surprising for a cool and not overpriced sportswear brand, but an obvious sign of its success.

OLD NAVY

Fashion store

This huge store has long been a Gap brand, before becoming an independent brand thanks to its excellent turnover. The style is more or less the same as Gap (a little more relaxed), the quality is not quite equal but remains good, and above all, the prices are much lower. Jeans are sold at reasonable prices, but it is mainly on t-shirts that we can do business. There is a department for each member of the family. So we can redo our wardrobe without ruining ourselves.

GAP

Fashion store

In Manhattan, Gap shops flower almost every block, so it's difficult to miss them. Lexington is one of the largest in the chain. Everything we love in American fashion, basic, casual, cheap, is there. It's too tempting, because it's the kind of clothing you want to wear one day or just when you don't want to make the show-off. For men, women, children and even babies, cotton sweaters, rugbymen shirts, jackets of all colours, jeans of all shapes and sizes, shorts, white shirts and little gifts for everyone (caps, socks, belts, scarves). In short, a life to dress in Gap and no longer swear only by Gap.

RALPH LAUREN

Fashion store €€
4/5
1 review

It is no longer necessary to present Ralph Lauren, emblem of the American style, or his superb private mansion dating from 1880 furnished in the English style. They are in fact two shops: the old one houses men's fashion and the one opposite, inaugurated in 2011, is dedicated to women's fashion and decoration. Surprisingly, the building looks old but it is indeed extremely recent, like the vintage clothes of Mr Ralph Lauren, perhaps. One visit to this store and you'll probably come out with a few polo shirts under your arm!

BANANA REPUBLIC

Fashion store
3/5
1 review

A chain and stores offering sportswear and streetwear (jackets, sweaters, pants, T-shirts, shirts, jeans...), more sophisticated and more expensive than those found at Gap, which bought Banana. The salespeople are unbeatable at helping you match your clothes. There is a great selection of rather chic clothes that can be worn to the office. The men's selection is, in our opinion, more interesting than the women's. There are several other stores in Manhattan.

KOOS AND CO

Fashion store

He is the favorite designer of great black artists and performers: Koos Van Den Akker dressed Sydney Poitier, actress Cecilia Tysson, Alteryse Davis, Jessye Norman but also Bing Crosby, Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna, Cher, Ringo Star, Marilyn Horn, Kennedy or Magic Johnson. An independent fashion designer, of Dutch origin, Koos meticulously chooses precious materials that he marries with vivid colours. But its preference goes to the furthest fabrics with which it makes sensual and sparkling garments, always unique, coats, jackets ($ 800), evening dresses (from $ 1 200 to $ 3 000), ensembles (from $ 900 to $ 1 800). A definitely trendy American channel, which adopts all fashions: New Age, green, cool baba, seventies... Clothes, but also accessories and decorative ideas for the home. The store offers vintage pieces and forgotten trends that are making a comeback, to the delight of hipsters. HAMLET’S VINTAGE

Fashion store

This very small brand offers a wide choice of dresses, tops and vintage accessories, each more attractive than the next. The patterns are there, you will feel like a fish in water if you are a fan of peas, stripes, checks.... Forget the chic Parisian style all in black, here, you will have no choice but to leave with colorful and a little kitschy clothes on the edges.... in the good sense of the word! There are also hand-picked boots and shoes.

Classic, but with a slightly more original cut than that of Calvin Klein. She was very fashionable in the 1980 s, caved in the 1990 s to Mister Klein before returning to the front of the scene today.
