COYOTE BLUFF CAFE

American restaurant
5/5
1 review

Located southeast of downtown, off Route 66, you don't come here by chance. With its air of old dilapidated saloon, the Coyote Bluff could make more than one person turn his heels, and yet! You can eat splendid and massive hamburgers prepared in the greatest American tradition, the "Burger from Hell" occupying a place of choice in the menu. The subdued atmosphere and the impressive quantity of old posters decorating the walls give the place a little more cachet. It's greasy yes, but it's good!

NOBIE'S

American restaurant €€

Restaurant offering a warm, intimate atmosphere, serving American dishes and craft cocktails, with a patio and vinyl playing music all day long. Be warned, it's hard to find a parking space here (which is rare for a city like Houston). The dining experience here is phenomenal, offering raw oysters and desserts that will satisfy the hungriest of palates. Local sourcing of all ingredients offers customers an assortment of fresh produce and Gulf Coast seafood.

THE CAPITAL GRILLE

American restaurant €€€

An upscale steakhouse for red meat lovers! The atmosphere is refined, with a warmly colored décor, and the dishes are presented with great care, worthy of a great Parisian brasserie. Among the meats, you'll also find oysters and lobster. Their wine selection is also very specialized, with mainly American wines. They also sell meats to take home, prepared by a local butcher, to be ordered online. A good address for gourmets!

EUGENE'S GULF COAST CUISINE

American restaurant €€

Eugene's Gulf Coast Cuisine is a superb address for a typical Texas Gulf Coast culinary experience. You'll find seafood, fish and seasonal specialties like crawfish, oysters and crab. Everything is infused with the flavors of the South: pecans, Creole shrimp, hickory and oak. The Saturday brunch menu even includes boudin! When it comes to dress code, opt for business casual, a little more chic than the norm without being too fussy.

NIELSEN'S DELICATESSEN

This is a typically American restaurant and ideal for fast food or take-out. Nielsen's Delicatessen is one of those culinary experiments born of European immigration to the United States, found all over the country and famously in New York, and Nielsen's is a Danish delicatessen. The deli usually serves turkey, chicken, tuna sandwiches, topped with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, etc. Classic deli items are corn beef, coleslaw, and don't forget the pickles!

RAGIN' CAJUN

American restaurant €€

It is said that Houston marks the beginning of Cajun Country, or the Cajun region, culturally more associated with the state of Louisiana. One of its great classics is the Po'Boy Sandwich, short for "poor boy sandwich". Born in New Orleans, this sandwich contains typical Cajun ingredients such as fried catfish, shrimp or crab, and in some restaurants even fried alligator! A good place to experience the culinary culture of the American South.

CLEBURNE CAFETERIA

American restaurant €€
Recommended by a member

Why closed on Saturdays? Because it is a restaurant run by a family of Greek, Orthodox origin. It is important to note this because when you are in the United States, you will see how "American" it is to come from all over the world. The Cleburne Cafeteria is typically "American" in the style of a canteen-restaurant where you stand in line and they serve you what you want on a platter. All the Southern classics are there: hushpuppies, fried catfish, cornbread, etc. Of course, endless refills are included!
