Among the finest producers of the famous wine, stop by the Produttori del Barbaresco for a tasting and to bring back a few bottles that will make an impression at your French dinner parties. Fifty families working a little over a hundred hectares have come together to defend and promote the cultivation of their vines and the production of their wines, while respecting tradition. The cantina was founded in 1958.

Franck Thollet, originally from Savoie, helps his father-in-law cultivate the land belonging to his wife's family. In his store, he'll give you a warm welcome and tell you all about the history of his plots. The Roncil family has been here for 8 generations. Their vines are very old. Production is 6,500 bottles a year from 2 hectares. The grape varieties are autochthonous, such as avana and becquet, with other Piedmontese varieties: barbera, dolcetto and neretta cunese. Fine vintages and two ice wines, harvested in winter.

Next to the restaurant-osteria del Castello, the boss opened a cellar, the Magnum kingdom, where you can taste the Italian wine of your choice. Wines of Alba and Monferrato, Barbera d'Alba, Nebbiolo d'Alba. The cellar has a terrace where you can enjoy an aperitif.

Both a restaurant and a wine cellar, you'll find one of the best selections of wines in the region. You'll find a warm ambience in the large dining room, with beautiful bottles displayed on the shelves along the walls. On the menu: tagliatelle, ravioli, medaglioni, veal escalopes and prime rib, accompanied by seasonal vegetables including excellent mushrooms. Try the wild boar ravioli or the speck and red radish ravioli. Tasting of grands crus in the stone cellar in the basement.

The town hall, Palazzo Robellini, also houses the regional wine library, dedicated to the wines of the area, one of the richest in grape varieties in the whole of Piedmont. Inaugurated in 1981, it occupies the basement of the palace. The space is divided into small, typically vaulted rooms. An impressive selection of excellent wines to taste before making your final choice, all guided by knowledgeable and helpful staff. A must to fill your suitcases!

These historic cellars belonged to the Falletti di Barolo marquises, who were already producing an exceptional wine in the ^18th century. In addition to learning more about the history of Barolo, the tour is interesting, with a chance to admire barrels several hundred years old. At the end of the tour, enjoy a tasting of the fabulous wines, and stop by the boutique to buy a few bottles. If you dine at the restaurant, the tour is included in the three menus on offer (from €59 to €79).

Turin certainly has no shortage of wine cellars where you can buy the good products of the region, but Mastrovini is one of the wine bars that also sells wine in bulk, and therefore at very interesting prices. If you feel like leaving with a bottle of nebbiolo, barbera, arneis or ruché, this small enoteca is the ideal place to shop. Moreover, the staff is very nice and they also serve drinks and good food on the spot! A place that remains over time a must, especially for the aperitivo!

Over 3,000 labels can be found in this historic Alessandria wine cellar (although the boutique in the center of town offers a more limited selection), which has been open since 1968. Bottles from Piedmont, of course, and from all over the world, but also liqueurs and other gourmet products. Lovers of pastis can tryAcqua del Tanaro, the local aniseed liqueur, and why not take some home in their suitcases. Don't hesitate to ask the sales staff for advice, as they will provide you with the most professional information.

In the Crocetta district, come and discover a delicious corner of authentic Piedmont. Here, you'll find typical wines sold in bulk, and plenty of goodies from the four corners of the region to accompany them. You'll also find Freisa di Chieri, the wine produced in the heart of Turin, in Villa della Regina, just across the Po, and a good selection of the famous local liqueur, génépi. Wonderful welcome, both warm and professional. An excellent address to visit again and again.
