Inaugurated in 1972, the BmL is the largest public library in France, covering more than 27,290m2 and holding more than 1.8 million documents in its "silo". Children go downstairs to the garden floor, exhibitions are at the entrance, music on the first floor, while the old collections are kept on the fifth floor reserved for researchers. The Culture subscription card gives access to the municipal libraries and the exhibitions of the 6 municipal museums.

LA JETÉE - CENTRE DE DOCUMENTATION

Its name is a tribute to the emblematic film by Chris Marker. Managed by Clermont Auvergne Métropole and the association " Sauve qui peut le court métrage", it houses an incredible collection of 120,000 short films that can be freely consulted, as well as thousands of books, magazines and educational resources on cinema. It is the only place in France to offer the entire collection of documentaries "Images de la culture" of the CNC. Access is free for all film lovers!

Pride. Not all French cities have an academy. But why Annecy and what is this Florimontane Academy? This true academy, which is part of the National Conference of Academies, is the worthy heir to the first French language academy created in 1607 by two Savoyards: François de Sales and Antoine Favre. This first academy flourished for only three seasons, but it produced beautiful fruits that came back to nourish the spirits in the 19th century. Today, this academy publishes the Revue savoisienne annually, manages the castle of Montrottier and a library, open on Thursday mornings, of 12,500 books on Savoy.

LA BIB’A DOM'

The Bib'à Dom' association in Lyon offers a unique service: home delivery of documents for people who can't get around, especially PRMs. We offer a wide selection of books, DVDs, CDs, audio books and magazines. It also offers read-alouds for the visually impaired. A volunteer can help you register with the library and select the books that interest you. Membership costs €12/year. Occasional deliveries are also possible, for a maximum of €6/6 months.
