The primary vocation of the editions De Boreas was to honour the novels of the land, especially the Auvergne (among its three hundred authors, one finds the recurrent signature of Jean Anglade). Today, after extended to other regions, publications also open to other genres: classical literature, youth books, kitchen books, comic books. De offers up to 200 new per year, and broadcasts six other publishers, including Purple Ink and the Blue leaf, to name but them.

It would be easy to see in Editions Create only regionalist or local production with the sometimes pejorative meaning that these qualifiers convey. Regional heritage, but treated by authors with recognized competences in the historical, architectural or artistic field. So is it the Encyclopedias collection which is the forced reference, by the sum of the knowledge presented of all the good libraries of the Central Massif.

Francis Debaisieux, photographer emeritus, became passionate about the Massif Central now more than years ago. In 1982, it created a postcard publishing house which broadcasts the impressive number of photographs devoted to the region, all genres combined: landscapes, but also portraits, heritage. A few years later, the house launches in book publishing and today offers many regional books, including many guides, all illustrated with magnificent photos. Among the best known are the treasures of the Romanesque Auvergne and famous and unknown volcanoes of the Massif Central.

Specialized for twenty-five years in the naturalist video reportage, taken by Christian Bouchardy assisted by Noël Gouilloux (cartoonist and decorator) and Yves Boulade (audiovisual technician). A former journalist, this faire naturalist ensures that the best way to preserve nature is to make it known. His humility and kindness only matched the discretion of his fetish animal, the mascot of the department. Catiche (whose name refers to the otter's home) has published fifty books (so many films), feeds local and national broadcasts, a weekly entry in Femina magazine and intervenes for scientific work. Catiche Productions has also won numerous awards for all its documentaries.

The works published by LES include the research of the Faculty of Letters, languages and humanities of the University of Blaise Pascal. They now offer a fairly rich catalogue, focusing mainly on literary studies, history and civilizations, territories and societies.

This Lyon-based publishing house specializes in the humanities, esoteric and Hebraic traditions and, more recently, literature, fine books, theater and children's books. The company's catalog comprises almost 500 titles, with around ten new titles published every year. Publisher of French and foreign literature (mostly Italian). The house founded by Pierre-Jean Balzan in 1997 is proof that you can make good and beautiful books, without necessarily living Paris. The Bear Pit publishes, among other things, the novels of Mario Rigoni Stern and Sergio Atzeni, but also the Quebec author Alain Turgeon or the Autralien John Tittensor.

Created in 2009 at the initiative of Tony Ronchon, the «small publishing house of des» will soon have a small dozen titles. A small self-publishing structure, Loustik offers children some funny and funny stories, vivid color illustrated with characters with great eyes. The texts are signed by Aurélie Vaissier and Cathy Pelletier, illustrations, Tony Ronchon, and mine of nothing, at its regional level, Loustik has already conquered the difficult public of children. It should be acknowledged that the kindness and availability of authors (who go to meet their audiences in schools) are not foreign to this success.

Name of a pipe, Et si on fait comme eux, Le Marchand de graines, Pour toujours... here are some titles published by Cosette Cartonera, a publishing house unlike any other. First, it is specialized in children's literature. Then, the stories are nice and are beautifully illustrated. Poetry is present on every page. The works are painted and bound by hand! And that's not all! Committed to an ecological approach, the books are made from recycled cardboard. Behind all this is Alicia Cuerva. Are you interested in the art of bookbinding? In addition to their famous cartoons, the Glénat editions publish works in various domains: travel and exploration, mountain, hiking, nature and environment, heritage and sea, vélo/VTT, sport and cuisine. In the latter, several collections, well illustrated are found:

Created by De Bussac and composed of a team of architects and illustrators, the Enduring Moment is the great specialist in works containing cutting and reconstitution models. The catalogue has many titles, and is in three collections: Architecture and patterns, for models of monuments (generally all on the same scale to allow comparisons), Grand Angle (which proposes, among other things, inventions by Leonardo da Vinci) and Compas, encyclopaedic complement to deepen its knowledge. The Enduring Moment also broadcasts the books of the Paleo editions.

If Chamina finds its roots in Auvergne, it is not focused on the Massif Central, and its collections of tourist guides cover a territory stretching from the biemont region to the Pyrenees. Chamina's main activity is walking guides, walking or cycling, sailing, sailing, or travelling, but there are also some beautiful books, and guides specifically focused on heritage discovery. One of them invites to a large crossing of the central mountain bike 666 km (from Clermont-Ferrand to Sète). Again, Puy-de-Dôme, an active planet, a collective book, in the Nature Activities collection, which has selected forty sites with fourteen outdoor activities for all seasons and levels. Finally, Le Petit Smart could not ignore the guide to patrimoine heritage: Wine and wine in Auvergne, which offers a wine address book and 40 mini-walk in the vineyards and wine-growing villages.

Bleu Autour publishes travel journals, diaries, personal accounts, novels, essays, translations and a biannual literary review, JIM(Journal Intime du Massif central), which deals with a single theme in each issue (red, coffee, Vichy, trains, etc.). It's a very fine magazine, each time featuring great authors. Editions Bleu Autour's collections include: "D'un lieu à l'autre", "D'un regard à l'autre", "Les Polars de Tinta blava", "Les Romans de Tinta blava", etc.
