The Fédération des Malades et des Handicapés (FMH) is an association based in Aubière. Its aim is to promote the social inclusion and autonomy of people with illnesses or disabilities. The association was founded in 1958 under the name Fédération Nationale des Malades Infirmes et Paralysés (FNMIP), then changed its name to Fédération des Malades et Handicapés (FMH) in 1992. It has local sections in the Puy-de-Dôme region, including Cournon, Gerzat, Issoire, Thiers and Vichy. FMH works in partnership with the City of Aubière, the City of Clermont-Ferrand, the Puy-de-Dôme Departmental Council, the Puy-de-Dôme Health Insurance and the Mutualité Sociale Agricole Auvergne. The association is organized around a Board of Directors, an Executive Committee, volunteers, members and beneficiaries. The Bureau implements the decisions of the Board of Directors and handles day-to-day business.

Ville en partage is an initiative of the city of Saint-Étienne towards the people of Stephan, in particular people with disabilities. The event takes place over the year in two seasons: January to June and September to December. Accessible to all, Ville en partage is more than 80 events hosted by nearly sixty associations. The Departmental Association for the Integration of the Deaf, the Adis works for the social integration of hearing impaired, notably through interpreters for accompaniment during a visit to the doctor, an administrative appointment, a professional interview, a museum, a course… With the MDPH, the Departmental House of Persons with disabilities, the deaf can receive a Compensatory Benefit of Disability (PCH)) which grants a monthly package of 350 € to pay for the hours of interpreting.
