ALPINE STAGE

Stadium and sports complex

An exceptional stadium in the heart of the city, a magnificent facility with multiple uses. Inaugurated in 2008, the Stade des Alpes is one of the last large stadiums built in France. Its undeniable architectural beauty is largely due to its transparency. Like a glass cradle with a capacity of 20,000 spectators, it allows natural light to pass through its immense glass roof (sunset at the Stade des Alpes is a highlight). It hosts the rugby players of FC Grenoble, Grenoble Foot 38 or other national and international sports events, but also concerts. Possibility of renting beautiful rooms.

ASTROBALLE

Stadium and sports complex

The inauguration of the LDLC Arena in Décines does not mark the end of the mythical Astroballe venue, home to the exploits of our favorite basketball team: LDLC Asvel. This 5,500-seat venue, built over 25 years ago in Villeurbanne on the edge of the ring road (easily accessible by all means of transport), will continue to host Betclic Elite championship matches for the team led by Tony Parker. This historic venue will no longer host Euroleague matches relocated to the new Arena de Décines, but it will continue to vibrate - with a 4-year lease extension - with its fans. Other sports could well complete the offer.

STADE MARCEL-VERCHÈRE

The stadium Marcel Craft owes his name in memory of a player whose tragic accident entered the history of the club. Craft died on 24 September 1937 after a violent plaquage in front of Oyonnax.

Nicknamed the purple cauldron, the encounters are now more happy, especially during the last season that saw the club finish Federal 1 champion and validate its ticket for Pro D 2.

Capacity: 11 400 places.

PARC URBAIN ET SPORTIF PHILIPPE-MARCOMBES

Stadium and sports complex

The stadium, which has existed since 1922, was updated 100 years later to become a genuine urban sports park. It is organized around a central hub dedicated to athletics, soccer and rugby, with a 1,500-seat grandstand. One section is reserved for a tennis club, while another is dedicated to basketball, 5-a-side soccer, beach volleyball, tennis and field hockey. A skate park, a pétanque area, ping-pong tables, a running track, two fitness areas, an omnisports hub and a playground complete the complex.

STADE GABRIEL-MONTPIED

Football

Its name pays tribute to the former mayor of Clermont-Ferrand and resistance fighter, Gabriel Montpied (1944-1973). Located in the Champratel district in the north of the city, it was inaugurated in 1995. This stadium is the home of Clermont Foot, a professional club that now plays in Ligue 1. The stadium is gradually increasing its capacity. In 2024, it should accommodate 16,200 people, compared to 10,800 today, including 3,200 modular seats. The parking lot capacity will increase to 1,700 spaces. This will be only the beginning of a long transformation in three phases, with the objective of reaching a capacity of 30,000 spaces in the long term. Expansion work is scheduled to begin in 2023.

STADE CHARLES-MATHON

Stadium and sports complex

Opened in 1939, and enlarged in 2011, it is neither by its size nor by its equipment that is conspicuous by the stadium Charles Mathon… but by the quality of play that its team has developed, and which has built a reputation as a «sublime citadel», when it evolved into Pro D 2! And many of Oyonnax's supporters are coming to applaud their team.

Reception capacity: 9 000 spectators.
