Perched at 2007 metres above sea level, the Courchevel altiport stands at the summit of Europe. In its early days, the runway, which was already over 350 metres long, was extended and widened. Today, it is almost 540 metres long and 40 metres wide, with a vertiginous gradient of up to 18.5%. This remarkable site not only houses a lookout tower, but also two chalets, hangars and a refuelling station, making it a true high-altitude refuge.
