Located between the Old-Nice and the port district this elegant th century square, was the first extension from the old town to the new city. Its facades of ochre hue and its facade facades form a monumental set of Baroque civil architecture. It was built by architect Antonio Spinelli between 1782 and 1784 and was formerly called Piazza Vittorio, in honour of King Victor Amédée III of Sardinia. It was a function of «solenniser» the entry of the Sardinian sovereigns arriving from Turin. In the centre, the statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi.
