ALEXANDER STATION
Read moreLocated in the th district, on the edge of the north-west districts, this former mill became a marshalling yard and was abandoned. Yet she hid an elegant structure, which is attributed to Gustave Eiffel. Supported by beautifully restored metal structures, this iron and glass structure retains its late th century character from pre-industrial times. In Marseilles, in the 80 s, a large campaign for the rehabilitation of former reporting buildings began. The Alexandre Station has benefited, such as the Auction, the Docks, La Wasteland Belle de Mai, the Silo Silo, etc. A safeguard in clean sites that continues with the positive will of the founder Sylvie Caulet, who is now upset by the bad image that the north quarters inspire. But Station Alexandre is also the world of outsourced culture, the business district nearby, trade, restoration, after work, etc. Enjoy contemporary facilities, this multi-tiered activity cluster welcomes employees of the company, management but also all curious visitors, small or large committees in restaurants (Bistrot Alexandre Il Barocco) or the bar bar (L'elf Café). All three have a classic homely soul, a modern post-modern charm, which often affects guests.

This priory today in the disappeared party was initially the property of the Order of Cluny, before being linked to that of Romette, near Gap. SAINT-ARNOUL CHURCH
Read moreThe parish church of the th century, currently under the protection of Saint-Arnoul, is at the top of the village. This religious edifice of Romanesque inspiration with a certain Provençal style was enlarged in 1686 to receive the new converted prompted by the abrogation of the Edit de Nantes. In the interior, the church Saint-Arnoul has no special interest. However, it can be noted that it was built in sandstone, with a stone apparatus at angles and around openings.

THE LADIES WITH HAIRCUTS
Read moreTwo important ensembles of around ladies - also known as the fées cheminées - are located on the Assaillous mountain overlooking the village in the north. These stunning natural formations - several dozen on the site - come from rain erosion, which over time has widened the thick layer of clay-clay soils and moraine blocks deposited by glaciers covering mountain flanks. Century after century, the rock blocks, which protected the ground just below, and the dongas, thus gradually releasing the surrounding area, were the origin of these high columns covered by their rock. You will easily reach it within a few minutes by taking the road that is set up: from Saint Peter Square, take the Rue de l'Église to its end north of the village. You will have a magnificent view of the village and its valley.
THE BELLER
Read moreThe beautiful th century stone tower, typical of the high-alpine architecture with its high octagonal stone arrow and four corner pyramidons, is located at the town hall, on the edge of the public square and its stone fountain. A widower of his church Saint-Pierre, demolished in 1852 with the aim of expanding the village square in the midst of a demographic expansion, he now serves - despite the distance - the new church Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, present at the top of the village. This building has a certain particularity, since it does not have a bell.
THE BURGADE
Read moreThe Village is the heart of the old village. You will discover its narrow and pentues streets, which wind between the austere and high facades of stones built "hot and sand". Some of them still show turrets or old doors with stone lintels decorated and dated. Once a country of wine, these facades contain many old and low doors, dominating huge cellars. It was built on several levels of vaults of tufa, urged and aging here of famous wines. The fluent plots and fountains in the basins dug in the stone and somewhat aerate this hardened place. Seemingly modest, it took excessive efforts to bring water - precious and rare - to the heart of the village from sources on the mountain. To visit the town is to get closer to the soul of the old village, while reconnecting with its rich past. But at the same time, we appreciate the efforts of development and restoration, which today allow life to develop in these historic places, without making it just a museum village.
ST. MAURITIUS PRIORY
Read moreLocated in a well protected trough on the north by Saint-Maurice mountain, between Remollon and Valserres, dominating the Durance valley, the Saint-Maurice priory was built in 1129. It was then attached to the order of Chalais since 1157, uniting itself to the abbey of Boscodon. Throughout its history, this religious place was destroyed during the wars of Religion. Some clapiers are still visible. However, they do not allow the plan to be raised. All the interest of the sites results from the typical site chosen by the Chalaisiens. A chapel was raised there.
OUR LADY OF CONSOLATION CHURCH
Read moreThis church, which dates back to the th century, is a remarkable place in the province of Nova Scotia. Linked to a fortified building, the building is 25 metres long and 6 metres wide, with walls about 2 metres thick. It is located on the edge of the barrio, towards the city walls. Mounted in cradle and full hanger, the nave forms three sections divided between mêlées by arches-doubleaux which fall into pillars whose capitals are decorated with bordeaux leaves. The choir was designed in a four and is higher than the nave. Inside, you can admire the master altar, whose altarpiece and stands were made of carved and gilded wood with sweaty and statuettes dating back to the th century.
FEUDAL CASTLE AND MEDIEVAL RUINS
Read moreThe high tower, built on a tomb, is located in a place suitable for monitoring the valley, and where the defence is facilitated by three sides on the steep slope. Here the houses were built on one side, thus benefiting from the protection of the castle. The oblong tower is raised on the side of the attack and flat side, rather rare for a medieval dungeon. Forming a kind of shield, the wall of the rounded part is very thick (approximately two metres). The entrance door is also a few meters high. Today, through the reconstruction of the tower and the absence of a boulin hole, it is impossible to know whether there is a wooden bridge, a removable scale or a round road.
THE HEATHER STONE
Read moreThe Tombstone tombstone, whose Christian inscription dates back to 538 ha. is located in the church of Bruis. It represents the oldest trace of Christian presence to date in the High Alps.
SEVENTEENTH-CENTURY CASTLE
Read moreThe small castle of Bruis was erected in 1669. Today, there is only one circular tower at the north-west angle. Apart from this special feature, it consists of a simple body of storey houses on which two wings of common buildings are combined. The court is closed by a wall in return, closing the castral universe. This symbolic building of local power succeeds the th century quadrangular tower on the nearby hill. The latter, which has long secured the protection of the primitive village of Bruis lying at its feet, was built in flat stone laid on the widest bed. With the advent of modern times, the fortifications have left room for buildings that allow for the exercise of an agricultural activity, thus ensuring the master of places, domination based on material prosperity, and not on weapons.
GREY BOLLS
Read moreCommonly known as "dinosaurs of Dinosaurs", this geological curiosity resulting from a sandstone bench from the South of France, is met in various areas adjacent to Rosans and surrounding areas. These balls and the layer of sandstone contain the same material. The only difference is the degree of cementation of the balls (calcareous cement, accompanied by silica which is deposited around the quartz grains to the point of welding them).
Attention, access to the first site is not indicated on the road. Go gently, and you will see on the right a small road road to follow over a hundred meters. After a steep descent, just follow the path (not take the yaw) straight straight in the woods. A discreet yellow markup on a tree will serve as a marker at the entrance to the path.
CHÂTEAUX
Read moreChabestan has two castles. The first seems to be dating from the th century. It is composed of a body of accommodation, once stretched with four towers. The other castle also includes a large body of accommodation, located on the bottom of a large courtyard. On the left there are stables and discounts on its right, a chapel dedicated to Saint Antoine de Padua. It was founded and built around 1650 by Jacques Amat, former lord of the village.
LA CHAPELLE DE THUOUX, NOTRE-DAME DE SUANE
Read moreA priory of medieval origin, this chapel once depended on Aspres-sur-Buëch. Recently restored, it will be distinguished by its "mur" in front. The door is surmounted by a wedge dating back to 1750. A fragment with a cross with the arms finished by balls is inserted into the south wall.
ASSUMPTION PARISH CHURCH
Read moreThe construction of the parish of the Assumption of Chabottes dates back to the end of the th and early th centuries. The current church, when it comes from the second half of the th century, undoubtedly involves older parts. Set on the site of the church indicated on the cadastre of 1837, part of the walls of the nave was made of stone-size stone, that of la consists of carved blocks of sandstone, the wall of the bedside is in rubble, the nave consists of three arched spans lined with split edges separated by doubleaux arches. The side chapels are arched, and the bell tower covered with an arrow of 4 rolled coils covered with slate. Finally, the round rump of the choir was built in veined sheet.
THE LAND OF LAMB
Read moreThe appearance of new agricultural techniques (chemical fertilizers used for the fertilization of soils, the disappearance of fallow land for the benefit of artificial meadows, among others) towards the end of the th century has somewhat forced the increase in production, with a view to the marketing of meat, particularly that of sheep. Savournon then became a place of lamb, with a local race adapted to the mountain and considered fertile, good dairy and capable of feeding its lambs quickly. In order to improve the efficiency of performance, the producers selected at the end of the 1940 s, animals leading to the creation of a unified breed, refer to the «Alps of the South», bringing together the local races of Savournon, Sahuné and Quint. In spite of a great reputation for its flesh, which is undoubtedly influenced by land, climate and altitude, the lamb of Savournon has left a place for this race of the Alps, whose main centre now remains Sisteron. It was a centre which unfortunately prevented the arrival of foreign lambs, because there was no real label.
