BOTANICAL TRAIL
Path that joins the entrance of the gorges of Bas Verdon through wooded hillsides, then returns to Esperon.
The Esparron botanical trail, laid out in 1990, forms a 6 km loop with a 204 m vertical drop. It starts in the south of the village and leads to the entrance to the gorge, crossing wooded hillsides before returning along the shores of the lake. The route is marked by yellow marks on trees and rocks. Allow 2 to 3 hours to take full advantage of the local biodiversity, stopping at 15 points where explanatory panels tell you all about the plants you'll come across. Be careful on steep sections and avoid this trail in hot weather.
