Verdant Works is an industrial museum that recounts Dundee's commercial past in the Jute Canvas. In a former restored production site, the machines and interactive installations can be seen in a more concrete way. Raw materials are presented before their transformation and the overall overview of the process is very playful. The approach is also humane, with workers'testimonies, their aspirations and their working conditions. There are also temporary exhibitions all year round.

This is the first time since 1925 that the Scottish capital has redone its single malt. The distillery is housed in a beautiful historic building, some 180 years old, a few steps from Holyrood Park and Old Town. You will discover how whisky and gin are made and will be able to follow different guided tours, according to your wishes: immersion in the distillery, visit and tasting of whisky or gin, masterclass on whisky. Explore also the shop and its selection of rare and vintage whiskies, the "Holyrood Prestige Collection"!

The only distillery on the island to produce "the golden spirit". The Talisker is fruity, hot, spray and, of course, a little smoked, but then very slightly… We fall under the charm of this sea whisky, with a fine and stubborn taste.

This distillery was founded by William Mitchell in 1872. He had previously owned Springbank with his brother John. You can learn the history of this family as well as the different names of whiskies that have become established here. Several tours are offered. The £10 tour lasts one hour and tells you about the genesis of the distillery and how whisky is made. It ends with the tasting of a dram of spirit and the gift of a miniature.

Belhaven is one of Scotland's leading beer brands and you've bound to have come across it at the pub counter in Scotland. It is said to have been brewing in Dunbar since 1719, where its premises are still located. Its high level of activity restricts visits to groups of 12 and it is necessary to make reservations on their website or by telephone. Fans will still take the trouble, because the tour lasts no less than 2 hours and plunges into the heart of the history of the site and its manufacturing process. A tasting is of course organized at the end!

Created in 1840, by the brothers John and James Grant, the distillery is born in a perfect frame to produce an exceptional base for its whisky, thanks to quality ingredients and also thanks to the river Spey, which runs along the family structure. The distillery is open to the public, with a visitor centre and guided tours. Stroll through the beautiful Victorian garden, restored to its former glory, and smell the hidden scents of single malt...

Annandale Distillery is one of the few distilleries in the South of Scotland. The site was bought in 2007 by enthusiasts, who wanted to bring it back to life. In 2018-2019, they released their very first single malt. It was an immediate success, as it was named in 2020 "Best Single Cask, Single Malt Scotch Whisky - 10 Years and Under" (Jim Murray's 2019 and 2020 Whisky Bibles). The distillery can be visited. It also has a beautiful store and a very pleasant café, The Malting Coffe Shop, where it is good to settle.

Inverawe has many attractions. There's something magical about the road alone! Once your vehicle is parked, several choices are available according to your desires: discover, through the museum area, how salmon are smoked, learn about fishing techniques, go for a walk following the proposed circuits (short walks) or taste smoked salmon on the spot in the café and shop area. In any case, don't leave on an empty stomach, it would be a shame!

The Cruachan hydroelectric station, nicknamed "the Hollow Mountain", can be visited by guided tours. First, a free time in the exhibition - which deals with energy in all its aspects: ecology, techniques, engineering, but also the history of the site and social history - will familiarize you with the subject. A special area is dedicated to children. Then your guide will take you by shuttle bus into the mountain. The observation of the site is done from a platform through a bay window.

This site invites you to discover hydroelectricity, on the very site of a dam. Several exhibits allow those curious about science and technology to understand how the Pitlochry Dam, which produces electricity for 15,000 homes, works. It is also a site for discovering the life of the salmon and sea trout that have the difficult task of bypassing the dam. The salmon ladder, with its 34 pools, allows them to pass safely.
