New Aquitaine : When should you leave?

New Aquitaine has a temperate climate with a lot of sunshine (more than 2,000 h/year!). In most of the territory, an Aquitaine oceanic climate prevails with mild winters and fairly hot summers tempered by the sea breeze. For Poitou it is moderate rainfall, warm summers and quite cool winters. The climate of the Limousin is influenced by semi-continental influences. In addition, there is the more humid Basque oceanic microclimate and the mountain climate of the Pyrenees.

The region of New Aquitaine can be visited throughout the year, but lovers of swimming and seaside resorts will choose the summer, of course, while skiers will schedule their stay in winter. The mild and pleasant climate of this region makes it possible to stay in all four seasons. New Aquitaine has distinct seasons and a wide variety of landscapes, so go in winter, spring, summer, fall, each time you will experience a different adventure. And this region is so vast that it will be necessary to return several times anyway. From snow-covered peaks to sunny beaches, from wild forests to bustling cities, you have a choice of atmospheres. As for enjoying fairs, festivals, major sports or cultural events, the program is rich and varied throughout the year.

New Aquitaine : Discover

This vast region offers a wide variety of unusual experiences. Visit the Cité de la BD in Angoulême and the Atelier Charentaise in La Rochefoucault, where slippers are made using the traditional sew-and-turn technique. See the Jacques Chirac Museum in Sarran, which exhibits gifts to the President from all over the world. The unusual leatherworker who works with fish leather. Thrill to a giant zip-line or axe-throwing. More leisurely: a gabare ride or a wine cruise. Eco-places, such as the Chaudron magique farm, bear witness to alternative lifestyles that respect the environment.

In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, you can sleep in a bubble perched in a tree, on a sailboat, in a giant barrel, a high-altitude refuge, a straw house, a ranch... Out of competition: DéfitPlanet', pioneer of unusual stays, and the Pressac Floating Village.
