In a way, this former oyster harbor represents the living memory of the commune. Nowadays, activity is reduced, but it will soon be redeveloped to enable yachtsmen to moor in this authentic, peaceful setting. The oyster huts, built by the fishermen themselves, add a touch of nostalgia to the charm of this place. They are due to be refurbished. Hendaye station is a railway station located in the commune of Hendaye, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It is part of the Bordeaux-Saint-Jean to Irun line and the Madrid to Hendaye line. The station has 6 tracks, as well as service tracks. In 2019, it welcomed 373,730 passengers. The station is located at Boulevard du Général de Gaulle in Hendaye. It is located close to the town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, near Ciboure. While La Rochelle boasts one of Europe's largest marinas, this basin is an exception. Sailors can access the beaching harbor, the Bassin des Chalutiers, as well as the Bassin des Yachts after a short passage between the two towers. This is the parking solution for all those arriving from the north of La Rochelle. If everyone can use the Relais Relais and take the bus, you can also park here. Also known as the Old West Port, this car park is one of the most suitable places to park your vehicle. Once parked, you will easily reach the pedestrian streets and restaurants. On the other hand, it is sometimes difficult to access with the Old Pedestrian Port and the reorganisation of the traffic flow. Note that during the summer, the parking lot is not available as it hosts the Jean-Louis Foulquier Stage.
