Bertrand Deguilhem, the son of the Bahamian member of parliament Pascal Deguilhem, does not have his father's passion for politics. He, what he likes are the stained glass windows. What was just a hobby he practiced in his studio in Bordeaux soon became his profession after he taught in a master verrier in Nontron. He works on glass and lead in the basement of his studio - a former restaurant he has transformed - whether it be for creations or restorations of monuments such as churches or chapels. 

In this workshop-boutique, Patricia, ceramist, and her daughter Laureline (training in applied arts), will explain to you the different stages of working with clay. Some pieces are questioning and their colours and roughness seem to come from chance, whereas in reality it is a matter of mastering the material before firing. Lamps, some of which are embellished with driftwood, crockery, decorative or everyday objects are waiting for you. The pieces are unique and each week's production reveals the talent of the two artists.

In Louhossoa, glassblower Jean-Marie Rimbault ("Jmeu") devotes all his time to the art and technique of transforming glass. The glass deforms, gradually taking on aesthetic forms and becoming an "artistic jewel". Lighting fixtures, sculptures, carafes, stemware... His artistic creations reflect the true language of glass (colors, distortions). The studio is open to visitors, with introductory courses and an online shop window for orders.

There's no stopping Jean-Jacques when it comes to creating contemporary designs that revisit ancestral stained-glass manufacturing techniques. Light fixtures and so many other 100% handmade glass objects, for both private individuals and decorating professionals, are the product of his imagination. Drawing on the heritage of a painter grandfather, he combines the knowledge of the ancients with the modernity of today's design methods, integrating wood and metal.

Bruno has a few strings to his bow... As a surfer, his playground is the ocean. A renowned art photographer and graphic designer, creator of urban furniture lines, osteopathic energy therapist and sculptor, he's a true "jack of all trades": all materials, with an interest in both the useful and the superfluous. A prolific artist and lover of the cetaceans that inspire him, he magnifies them with masterly sculptures of pure lines that can be found all along the coastline.

Lena, who has lived in Guéthary for the past ten years, began her career in pottery in 1995, having previously worked in weaving, decorative painting and sewing. Her uncluttered, unadorned style creates functional pieces in stoneware or porcelain, mainly for the table. Mugs, mugs, salad bowls, plates, vases, etc., whose simple, unadorned shapes reflect the Scandinavian influence of our Swedish-born artist. Unique creations, from the simplest to the most sophisticated.

Located in the former presbytery, the workshop of Annie opens only by appointment. It manufactures objects based on raw leather, animals, masks, jewellery and belts. During the summer she organizes courses and initiation to the work of leather. During the medieval festival in July Annie Laroche gathers together with other local artisans (illuminations, woodworking, jewelry, pottery) to present their work.

Here is a craftsman who comes out of the ordinary, Rémy Bacon Marshal-Farrier and Designer designs and weather all forms (animals, horses, boats and airplanes…) and all colors, combining glass and metal. Go to the workshop on a very good time. Rémy was able to seize all the poetry contained in this objet object by the wind and animate the top of the house.

In 2020, on the initiative of Daniel, a journeyman carpenter, the Maison Zabaldu was created in a former warehouse, bringing together craftsmen and craftswomen, and thanks to the association that promotes creation in all fields. The association's DNA is to promote and transmit these talents by bringing them together. Today, 7 artisans have set up shop in these "échoppes", while the other members have their workshops in the Pays Basque, Béarn and southern Landes. It's also a lively place, with events and initiations for children.

With Ema Geval, there's nothing old-fashioned about stained glass! On the contrary, it takes on a thousand and one appearances and forms, from the most poetic to the most unusual. Trained as a visual artist, Ema has lived in the Dordogne since 2004, and exhibits her creations in the beautiful village of St-Amand-de-Coly, opposite the tobacco kiln. She also offers workshops, subject to booking, where participants can not only learn her technique, but also create a work in its own right and take it home with them. Serendipity led Marie-France Dequin to settle in the village of Penne-d'Agenais almost 40 years ago. "I've blossomed here," she admits with a broad smile. She has built up a loyal local clientele, supplemented by numerous holidaymakers passing through. She works with vegetable-tanned leather, sourced from French and Italian tanneries, for belts and other products. She also makes a variety of leather goods, including handbags, purses, etc. Her talent and kindness make her a remarkable person.

Teddy Perrot (artist name: Dee-T) has always been artistically inclined. After learning to weld, he began making metal sculptures from salvaged objects, such as old tools. Their shape inspires the finished result. For example, he transformed a hammer into a shark. Silhouettes of dancers, a violin, lighting fixtures: his imagination knows no bounds. A life-size iron horse is one of his finest creations. You can admire some of his creations in his boutique.

Fascinated by wood, Fabien Roma decided to make it his profession. He became a professional thanks to a long training course at the Escoulen school, a renowned establishment in the Var region dedicated to woodturning. Since 2023, he has been a member of Ateliers d'Art de France. Fabien offers tableware and interior design pieces for sale, with a natural finish. He uses only local wood, which he recycles for his creations. Inspired and virtuous.

A graduate of the Paris School of Applied Arts, young Laurine has been working as a stained glass artist in Penne-d'Agenais since 2023. While she restores stained glass to help preserve the local heritage, she also creates magnificent made-to-measure windows for private clients. She also teaches glass painting, her specialty. Her work can be seen in an exhibition space in her studio. Laurine will tell you all about it.

When he was a winegrower, Stéphane Azémar used amphorae. Until the day he decided to learn how to make them himself. A ceramist since 2021, he specializes in large-scale pieces, including terracotta amphorae for decorative or oenological use. His works are captivating in their beauty and originality. Many can be seen in his studio, some in the village of Penne-d'Agenais (at the "Remp'art" gallery, at "Verre Zé Bulles").

Eve-Gabrielle Rosset is a talented ceramist who works without a potter's wheel. She uses only her hands and traditional methods (pincé, colombin). The result is colorful, meticulously decorated bowls, vases, raw clay plant pots... If you drop in to her boutique workshop, you may be lucky enough to see her bring one of her beautiful handcrafted pieces to life. She also gives modeling lessons and organizes summer workshops by prior arrangement.

Laurent Fournier first fell in love with the gestures of the woodturner. When he retired, he trained with a professional craftsman in Chauvigny. He will never let go of his tools and starts in 2019. He chooses the wood carefully, working with local wood or exotic species whose origin he ensures. Each piece he designs is turned by hand. He creates a custom-made, unique object: wood species, shape, colors... the possibilities are numerous. Pen, fountain pen, razor, corkscrew, salad bowl, bowl, jewelry ... you choose.

Born into a family of ceramists, Delphine Richard has taken up the torch and now offers her ceramic creations. She turns the material, sculpts it, then adds color. All stages are carried out by hand, including glazing. She makes tableware (dishes, bowls, salad bowls, mugs, cups, vases, trivets, etc.), as well as decorative objects. She makes a wide range of animals, your coat of arms, and custom numbered plaques for your home, with your street number and the design of your choice.

The only glassblower in Poitou, Floriane Tourrihles set up her workshop-boutique in Lavausseau in 2019. She designs and manufactures glasses, goblets, vases, decanters... She also makes colorful jewelry from glass beads. She shows her work in glassblowing with a cane (when the kilns are on) or the second technique of glass spun with a blowtorch. She loves to share her passion for her craft with others.

It is there, just beside the Saint-Pierre church, behind the gate, that birds come to nest and peck in the very beautiful colored potteries of Angélique. Hanging in the garden, next to the Japanese maple tree that gives its name to the workshop, nesting boxes and feeders are sure to catch your eye. L'Atelier des Pérouses is a must for craft enthusiasts in Claix. This workshop offers a variety of unique creations, from lamps to custom-made decorative panels. Stylist and visual artist AURE Li plays with materials in her studio-boutique la Rézerve créative in the Houmeau district. Erika Sellier is a painter based in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. She offers paintings on glass as well as works inspired by the Basque country. You can also discover them just across the street, at the XAYA gallery restaurant, where some of her paintings on waste paper and canvas are on display. Erika Sellier recently won the PRIX D'EXCELLENCE at Art Expo Paris, organized by Maison et Jardin magazine.

Carole Lévy Kerebel is a singular artist. After a 25-year career in the book trade, she returned to ceramics, which she had begun as a teenager. In 2012, she set up her own ceramics studio in her home, where she immersed herself in a comprehensive study of the material. Her path leads her to Japan, where she finds powerful inspiration. And so, for the past 10 years, she has been creating unique pieces: ceramic Kokeshi. They pay tribute, in a highly personal spirit, to traditional Japanese statuettes and the art of the kimono. Olivier Picquart, a woodcarver by training, discovered one day, through a friend, the fossil ivory of a Siberian mammoth. He made a pendant out of it and quickly developed a passion for this material. In his workshop he creates jewelry and sculptures. As a reminder to the men of prehistoric times who carved objects out of bone or mammoth ivory. In his store, he also exhibits knives, leather goods, ceramic objects... from other craftsmen that he has selected. And he likes to explain his know-how!
