PERMIS DE CONSTRUIRE
Read moreCreated in 2010, Permis de Construire, an association under the French law of 1901, has already reached out to 1,400 prisoners to help them find their way back to society. Located on the second floor of the Pirmil association center, its four employees and volunteers fight against the isolation of former prisoners, which is often present when they leave prison. The association offers five support courses to people under sentence: self-care, living one's citizenship, relationships, developing one's professional project and boosting one's application. The aim is to make people leaving prison the pilots of their lives. With results, since more than half of the projects result in a return to employment. The association is seeking to establish partnerships with local companies.
TINHI KMOU
Read moreVolunteers from the Tinhi Kmou association have had the good idea of contributing to the fight against waste by offering produce as well as fresh fruit and vegetables to the people of Nantes. They also deliver school supplies and clothing. They collect unsold goods from supermarkets, markets and the hospital in Saint-Jacques. Trucks of volunteers make the rounds to help those in need, but not only. The association's main objective is to combat wasteful consumption. Unlike conventional food aid associations, Tinhi Kmou does not require proof of income. All that's required is a small contribution of a few cents a month.
RESTAURANTS DU CŒUR 44
Read moreJean-Michel, the president, and the 2,000 volunteers of the Restos du coeur du 44, are there to support people in need, thanks to the various food distribution centers (Dalby, Bénélux...), but that's not all. Restos du coeur de Loire-Atlantique bend over backwards to help, to alleviate everyday worries. With employment advice and workshops, but also well-being (access to a hairdresser) and emergency accommodation with the Maison de Coluche. Not forgetting participation in cultural events, such as the Bal des Restos to be held in June 2022 at the Warehouse in Nantes. Several solidarity initiatives have also been launched, such as the "Plante la vie" operation with Nantes et vous TV and the Edouard Nignon Institute in summer 2022: the aim? Nantes residents buy seeds and shrubs to put flowers in their homes, balconies and communities, and in exchange, the funds raised will finance the purchase of a refrigerated truck for the Restos, which is essential for logistics! La grande Tombola des Restos en 2023, has been supported by donor partners with the aim of raising funds.
How can you help? Become a volunteer and help out with reception, food distribution, supplies, administrative work - all skills are welcome. And donate money: there's no such thing as a small donation. 10 euros means 10 meals, so every euro counts. Visit their website regularly and become a volunteer or support Restos du coeur financially. Coluche and his sons (volunteers among volunteers!) thank us.

The association supports over 2,100 people with disabilities, including some 350 children and teenagers, and is guided by the values of a global associative project: protection, autonomy, respect for the individual, citizenship and dignity. LES BUREAUX DU COEUR
Read moreLes Bureaux du Coeur is an association whose aim is to provide housing for people in precarious situations, known as guests. Guests are accommodated in the offices of its corporate members, known as hosts, in the evenings and at weekends. As their offices are heated and equipped (kitchen, WC, washbasins, often shower), the Centre des Jeunes Dirigeants Nantes has decided to welcome people in precarious situations to their premises when they are no longer in use. This implies precise rules: a set of specifications is drawn up for the selection by the associations of the people hosted by the companies. Each company hosts a single person, called "guest" as there is no charge, for a defined period of time. The company provides the guest with a bed, a wardrobe, the employees' kitchen area and bathroom facilities. Les Bureaux du Coeur thus gives people access to individual accommodation, brings them closer to the corporate world, enables them to socialize, benefit from the solidarity of employees and sometimes from the contacts of managers. Les Bureaux du Coeur's work is simple, inexpensive and, above all, very supportive and humane.
