ELCV 78 BASKET

Basketball

Basketball, a typical American game, comes straight from Massachusetts. At the end of the 19th century, a sports teacher tried to keep his students busy during the winter between American football and baseball seasons. This is how this "basketball" game was born, with the very first game in December 1891. Here in Versailles, the basketball club is very dynamic: it was born in 1999 from the alliance of three clubs: the men's club Versailles Basket Club, the women's club Stade Français Versailles and the club Le Chesnay 78 Basket-Ball. There are many teams; training and qualifications start with mixed mini-poultry, and end with male and female seniors. From the age of 4, the Basketball School offers the youngest children the opportunity to discover this fun sport, within a structure certified by the French Basketball Federation. The teams are involved in the various championships to obtain the best possible results. The sports training offered to each player is adapted to each player's needs, with individual development if necessary. In addition, this club offers basketball for the disabled in partnership with the French Federation of Adapted Sport and Disabled Sports. For more information, contact the secretariat.
