AFAGNB (ASSOCIATION FRANÇAISE DE L'ÂNE GRAND NOIR DU BERRY)
Read moreWhat better than a fair to observe, compare, debate and bargain? This event was initiated by the folk group of the Thiaulins de Lignières, the historic cradle of the Black Black Donkey of Berry, to save this mules breed. Traditionally, the Donkey Grand Black du Berry is the animal par excellence par excellence. It was used for ploughing, the work of the vine, the coupling of small carriages, and firing the barges on the Berry Canal. In 1985, when this fair began, it's only 45 Great Black Blacks that were presented. But very quickly, this gathering took place and in 1989, we could count 140 donkeys. Today, more than 200 donkeys are presented by their owner, amateur or professional from all over France, but also from neighbouring countries. You can also discover all the other races of donkeys and mules. The program, race competition and coupling competition. Many stalls related to the mules activity are located on the Place-de-Foire square and on the adjacent streets. A snack is also at your disposal to refresh yourself, as in general, at Pentecost, it is rather hot! A friendly atmosphere, where the meetings go well. In any case, the Thiaulins have been successful since 1994, the Âne Grand Black du Berry is an officially recognized race and is even the second mules race in France.
LES THIAULINS DE LIGNIERES EN BERRY

The latter, known and estimated in Berry, was able to bring together young ligniéroise to witness oral traditions and the material life of yesteryear in Berry. Today, the Thiaulins are about enthusiasts of all ages, of all occupations, who combine their knowledge and put it at the service of the castle of Plaix, for its restoration and preservation. They also make known to the public the songs and dances of Berry, through numerous concerts, creations of discs… They are led by Mic Baudimant, also figure of Berry, cornemuseux and ardent defender of the arts and popular traditions. They thus collect the latest testimonies of peasant tradition. For nearly forty years, the Assembly of Plaix is taking place on the 3rd Sunday in August. A real event in the region, there is also a very long way to go to participate in the festivities. With the Thiaulins, it is a little memory of Berry that resists time and oblivion.
LES BAINS-DOUCHES
Read moreCreated in 1978, the Association les Bains-douches program of cultural seasons (dominated by song) in rural areas in Lignières-en-Berry. The Bath-Showers room has a capacity of 200 people. The association promotes the dissemination and creation of performances, sets up artists'residences, concerts on the farm, chansons, exhibitions, training and awareness-raising activities with the young public. This cultural enterprise is also the support of a Regional Song Pole and initiates song actions in the Centre region. Each year Les Bains-Showers organizes the festival "L'air du Temps" during Ascension Week: This is the occasion for a campaign break in the discovery of current music. Animations (exhibitions, concerts on the farm…) take place at the Baths and in other rooms in the surrounding area. Among the artists who are already produced in the Baths-Showers include Maxim Le Forestier, Bratsch, Arthur H, Art Mengo, Souad Massi, Tom November, Charlelie Couture… Exceptional programming for this room in rural areas which now enjoys a national reputation. A room not too large that allows for privacy with artists.
