In Tours or Joué-lès-Tours, Michel will initiate you or lead you to perfect your skills on acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, bass, American violin or autoharp. All this in a variety of musical styles, from rock to blues through pop or French and foreign variety. Of course, we complete with solfège, if needed. Individual or group lessons, courses, for adults and children: let your talents run wild! Michel also accompanies confirmed artists for arrangements, transcriptions and pre-recordings.

For more than 30 years, the Conservatory for adults has offered Tourangeaux the opportunity to learn music theory and practice an instrument, whether you are a beginner, amateur or experienced. The courses are given in the Jean de Ockeghem room, in the former Saint-Denis church, near Place Châteauneuf. You have the opportunity to practice piano, violin, cello, guitar, flute and singing. It is important to note that the practice is oriented towards chamber music, which has been increasingly successful for several years. For more information, do not hesitate to come and meet the professionals on Wednesdays and Fridays in September, from 4pm to 6pm.

While the Jazz à Tours school offers jazz training, as its name suggests, its area of expertise covers all contemporary music. Rock, blues, electro, pop, explore all these fields, as an amateur musician or future professional. Through group and/or private lessons, practice saxophone, viola, drums, etc. with professional teachers. With its various partnerships, the school offers its students opportunities to play, and its musicians are very much a part of local cultural life. Jazz à Tours has already celebrated its 40th anniversary!

Budding artists or future music professionals meet in this school created in 1994. Just a stone's throw from downtown, on the other side of the Loire River, professional musicians teach the practice of modern and amplified music. The leisure courses are aimed at experienced amateurs, while the teachers also offer training courses leading to a diploma for future professional artists. Professional artists are also accompanied to finalize their project. Group workshops, individual classes and master classes are part of the school's daily routine. And to get on stage, the school offers multiple opportunities, at the music festival and in partner festivals.

Alexis Deshayes, a graduate of Paris, is specialized in guitar and piano. It offers special courses for all levels and styles, in various structures on Tours, and continues to play in groups and to take place in public.

The Scottish bagpipe interests you, you are passionate, and intrigues you? So it's time to take the step and initiate you. Regardless of your age and level, whether you practise music or not, there is no objection to its learning and discovery. Theory, doigté, ornaments, technique of souffle, respiratory technique but also maintenance and agreements will have no secret for you. You will be working on the music directories of Scotland, Ireland, Brittany and Galicia… in soloist or group.

The Cloister of the Cordeliers, whose walls are eight centuries old, offers an ideal setting at the Conservatory of Music and dance. Led by Michel Bienaimé, the Conservatoire provides quality Musical Training and Quality training. Instrument (classical or jazz), song, dance (classical, contemporary or jazz): small and large will only have an embarrassment of choice. However, please note that music theory and collective practice are compulsory when you choose a musical curriculum. The collective disciplines are fully valued, from the earliest age and whatever the curriculum, since the Symphony Orchestra, the Grand Choir and the Big Band of Chartres are renowned for the Conservatoire. Please note that during the school year, concerts are regularly organised… it is worth a visit!
