LA BELLE DÉCHETTE

Braderie brocante et puce

This ressourcerie (the first to be set up in the Rennes metropolitan area) makes the most of objects that have been discarded, based on the concept of a circular, solidarity-based, anti-waste economy. Recovered objects are given a second life. You can rummage through the bins haphazardly, finding crockery, decorating materials and accessories, books, cuddly toys, clothes, a haberdashery corner, small furniture and much more. Always at modest prices! Truly involved in the implementation of collaborative, ecological and social practices, the association also offers workshops for young and old to share DIY and anti-waste tips. An association that really makes us feel the benefits of a responsible alternative to our consumption patterns. Since the beginning of 2024, La Belle Déchette has relocated to Les Halles en Commun to bring together in one place its valorization center and its second boutique, La Réserve.

LES PUCES DU JEUDI

Braderie brocante et puce

In Rennes, there are many opportunities for bargain hunting, but one of the most obvious is a Thursday morning visit to the halles centrales. All around this building, decorated with mosaics by Odorico, it's a good idea to stroll to meet a round of objects with the charms of yesteryear. The local professionals know each other well and will always have something to catch your eye. And bargain-hunters are not mistaken: they regularly come to unearth a few fine finds. So, from boulevard de la Liberté to the corner of place Henri Commeurec, via rue Jules Simon, you'll have plenty of time to spot a few stoles, old books, telephones from another age or Henriot porcelain. There's plenty of memorabilia to be acquired, and many secrets to be revealed about the objects from another age. You'll discover thousands of vintage postcards, pocket watches, old stamps, collectible figurines, furniture, toys, miniatures and more at the various stands. There's so much to remember! You'll also find beautiful furniture, from old school desks to Napoleon III secretaries. Like all flea markets, you'll find yourself wandering along the stalls with their share of kitsch and cult objects. It's a great walk to take, and one that will appeal to amateurs and tourists alike. In just a few steps, whole swathes of history are revealed, as well as a little of the city of Rennes. A must-see!
