A family-run business founded in 1942 by Hymie and Freda Sckolnick, this American diner is said to be the origin of Montreal's famous brunch ritual. More than 80 years later, the Beautys Special (the must-try bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese) and the Mish-Mash (hot-dog omelette, salami, green bell pepper and fried onions) still make the reputation of the house. The menu has expanded over the years, and people sometimes come from far and wide to enjoy breakfast or brunch at Beautys. Bonus: in-house products are on sale on site.

Concrete ambiance and wall art in this trendy (Mile End obliges) version of the brunch diner. You can enjoy a hot or cold homemade beverage, and of course excellent breakfasts "à la montréalaise": waffles, French toast, sandwiches, egg specialties (which gives the place its name), and of course the famous morning poutine. The portions are as generous as the noise level is high, for those who don't have the chance to eat outside. People come from far and wide: you will have to be patient at the entrance. A delight that must be earned!

One of our best addresses for a gourmet brunch any day of the week. If you like eggs Benedict, you'll be delighted with the dozen or so variations. The house also offers sandwiches for a meal on the go, tapas for the pleasure of sharing and more substantial dishes for big appetites, for example. The place is also famous for its cocktails and its nice list of alcohols of all kinds, which we take pleasure in savoring in the lounge. A very trendy address in The Annex.

Set up in the premises of the now-defunct Cafetier, café-dînette-buvette Mollies - named after co-owner Molly Superfine-Rivera - is diner-style, but with a local twist. Local producers contribute to the tasty menu, which offers breakfasts until 4pm and lunches from 11am. To accompany the gourmet side, specialty coffees, fresh juices and smoothies appear on the slate, alongside stronger elixirs such as mimosa, amermelade spritz or natural wines. An address like no other!

One of Montreal's busiest bakery-cafés. At the entrance, a counter sells an assortment of pastries, cookies, muffins and other treats, not to mention coffee to go. At the back, the breakfast, sandwich, salad and other gourmet counters prepare delicious diet meals, most of them made with organic ingredients. The choice of dishes varies regularly, and their quality and originality never disappoint. A delicious coffee is the perfect end to a good meal. Beware, the place is packed at lunchtime.

This is clearly the best place in town, if not the region, to brunch! We loved the sourdough toast topped with mashed avocado, bacon, smoked tomato chutney and roasted sesame seeds, all topped with a fried egg. A pure delight! In addition to its breakfasts served until late in the day, the place also offers, for example, salads, pokés and sandwiches for all appetites. On Friday evenings, the place offers Mexican cuisine (tacos, fajitas, burritos, ceviche, etc.). A gourmet address at the top!

This is one of the most popular brunch spots in Little Portugal. If you plan to come on the weekend, however, expect a bit of a wait. The food is fresh, the setting is warm and the location is ideal for exploring the trendy stores along Dundas West. In the evening, the food is just as affordable and the atmosphere is always casual. The gourmet menu is simple but tasty, as evidenced by the Cuban sandwich or the mac & cheese (three cheeses) with bacon and shallots.

Shortly after opening, Dandy is already a popular choice for brunch in Old Montreal. With its sleek, modern look, it appeals to a trendy clientele. The menu is convincing: ricotta pancakes, maple syrup and hazelnut butter with seasonal fruit; buttermilk fried chicken sandwich; breakfast plate with avocado toast... not forgetting the pretty pastries of the day. The dishes remain simple and gourmet, but with a touch of elegance, in the manner of a true dandy after all.

Designed to be a place that values surfing and its community, September Café is an address that delights Montreal, and not only surfers. In a modern and bright decor, we love to stop for a good coffee or to taste one of the classics of the house. Avocado toast on brioche bread with soft-boiled egg, grilled halloumi sandwich, big breakfast salad but most of all: the pancakes with maple syrup. Soft and (really) hearty, these pancakes are undoubtedly among the best in town, you can't refuse..

When we found this address, we didn't expect to fall in love with it so intensely. But there's news: after spending a few seasons on the Domaine Orléans site, Les Gamines finally has its own premises in Stoneham. The star of the menu: incredibly tasty waffles made with fresh apple juice and local produce. We wholeheartedly recommend the Gravlax (avocado mousse, egg marinated in cider vinegar, feta cheese, basil and salmon gravlax). We're still dreaming about it, and can't wait to check out the new premises!

Established in its new location since September 2022, BB's is a trendy address in the Parkadale neighborhood. It is highly regarded for its weekend brunches featuring the tasty cuisine of the Philippines, all under the guidance of Chef Robbie Hojilla who has been working in the BB's kitchen for a while. In addition to brunch, the place is also open in the evening for cocktails and good food, always in the same spirit. And as Asia loves karaoke, parties are organized there.

La Sucrerie du Domaine is a new gourmet restaurant with a rustic-chic look, where you can indulge until you're blue in the face. It's the perfect spot for lunch, brunches and lunches, with utterly decadent dishes made from 100% Lanaudière produce. We love the poutine "hangover" with organic free-range egg, cubed potatoes, house-smoked baloney, maple-smoked ham, Cabane bacon and homemade hollandaise sauce. Definitely not a place to diet!

The dishes perfectly reflect the seasons with a clear preference for local products, without forgetting the flavors of the world. The place specializes in b'lunch during the week and brunch on the weekend (the pancakes are a must). To finish the meal in beauty, try the profiteroles that make the reputation of the house. Good food, good taste, all at an affordable price!

If you're in the mood for brunch, this is the place to be! Praised by critics and gourmets alike, this eatery prepares a host of dishes with local flavors, thanks to well-established partnerships with numerous Quebec producers and artisans. The two poached eggs with foie gras are a must (brioche bread, duck eggs, pan-fried foie gras, foie gras sauce, onion compote, Prosciutto chips, poppy seeds, arugula shoots, honey-glazed rabioles). Bonus: a really cool cocktail menu.

Le Vire-Crêpes is well known for its blueberry fields where you can pick your own in season. It's also a shop where you can stock up on this small fruit of the fields, either natural or in processed products. But above all, it's a gourmet address to enjoy a brunch where blueberries are the star even in smoothies. In summer, a food-truck sets up shop on the site and offers blueberry and maple salad with grilled chicken, Angus beef burgers and other delights.
