Read moreTreat yourself to a historical immersion in Australia's oldest surviving theater! Located near the harbor, Hobart's Theatre Royal was built by convicts between 1834 and 1837. Many international performers have performed here - from the famous French mime and actor Marcel Marceau to the multiple Oscar-winning American actor Laurence Olivier. The latter even came in person to protest the demolition of the theater in 1940. It still hosts plays, musicals and ballets today.
CAPITOL THEATRE
Read moreThis old art deco theater was built in 1892-1893 as the New Belmore Markets with, as a characteristic of the time, the inclusion of circus, theater and fairground shows. Due to the decline in attendance over time for these shows of all kinds, the building was transformed in 1913 into a racetrack. It became a permanent theater in 1927. Nowadays, its program includes great musical shows as well as famous artists: it is the little Australian Moulin Rouge!
STATE THEATRE CENTRE OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA
