It is the interstate (interregional) railway station whose former name is Keswik Station. Beware, the distances are important and the trips long! You can find the departures and arrivals of the following trains:

The Overland (Adelaide-Melbourne). Approximately 10h30 of travel.

The Indian Pacific (Perth-Adelaide-Sydney). Approximately 43 hours for Perth. Approximately 26 hours for Sydney.

The Ghan (Adelaide-Alice Springs-Darwin). About 23h for Alice Springs. About 2 days to Darwin.

TRANSWA - THE PROSPECTOR

Train

The Prospector, nicknamed the Kalgoorlie Train by locals, travels regularly between Perth and Kalgoorlie, a journey time of around 7 hours. This is a real passenger train, which is quite rare in Australia for long distances. The Indian Pacific, Great Southern and Ghan are mainly tourist trains. The Indian Pacific, which links Perth and Sydney and arrives in Kalgoorlie twice a week, makes a one-hour stop here. You can take a quick guided tour of the town before the train departs.

THE GHAN

The Ghan is a mythical train that connects Adelaide to Darwin, in 2, 3 or 4 days. Its name honors the Afghan camel drivers, who played a key role in the first crossings of Australia through the center, as well as in the construction of the telegraph line. The Ghan is a luxury tourist train with stops in Alice Springs for guided tours and in Katherine for a cruise to Nitmiluk Gorge (helicopter flight at extra cost), as well as a quicker stop in the middle of the desert at night to enjoy the starry sky.

BYRON SOLAR TRAIN

Opened in December 2017, the Byron Solar Train connects downtown Byron to the North Beach neighborhood and Byron Arts Estate via a 2-mile coastline. Far from the current aesthetic canons, this train is made of two cars dating from the 40s perfectly restored (the twin of the locomotive is in the railway museum in Tenterfield). On board, you can relax as you travel through the coastal rainforest and coastal wetlands. The trip takes 10 minutes one way or 25 minutes round trip from the North Beach station.

ADELAIDE RAILWAY STATION

Great Southern Rail (Brisbane à Adelaide)

Like the Ghana or Indian Pacific, the Great Southern is now run by Journey Beyond Rail, which offers a very good quality service aimed at travelers who want a fairly luxurious experience while enjoying the superb scenery and experiences available along the way.
