Cafés and tea rooms are generally open all day and sometimes start early when they offer breakfast packages (mainly in the city). As for ice cream shops, it's the opposite, they stay open late on weekends to enjoy family outings.
A beer costs about 2 € and a coffee about 1,60 €. In the Czech Republic, homemade lemonades have become increasingly popular in recent years and are particularly cheap (and refreshing when the weather is nice). So taking a break won't break the bank!
In the summer, beergardens open in the parks and gardens of major cities, allowing you to take a break for a small fee while enjoying the outdoors and an authentic Czech atmosphere. In Prague, the most popular beergarden is located in Letna Park and offers panoramic views of Prague.
Cigarettes are banned in enclosed public places. As in Ireland, the law raised some opposition at the beginning, but after a few months, the Czechs became aware of the health benefits of such a measure, without it affecting the atmosphere of the taverns!
