Taken over by Best Western Plus, the Bakeriet hotel has kept the quality of its services. This 1860 corner house, with its charming gothic façade framed by small turrets, was originally a bakery. Echoing the history of the place, bread ovens from 1897 and period ornaments still stand between the walls of the hotel. The rates are quite reasonable for Norway and for a service of this quality: everything is very clean, the room well equipped and decorated with care. Pets allowed, fitness room and restaurant.

Anker Hostel, which is none other than the youth hostel version of Anker Hotel, will satisfy both solo travellers and groups. Comfort and cleanliness are the order of the day in all the rooms, all of which have a bathroom and kitchenette. Breakfast is not served at Anker Hostel, but if you want to have something to eat, just walk a few metres to the nearby restaurant, with a voucher purchased at the hostel reception, and you will find plenty to eat. Excellent value for money! Towels and sheets are available for hire.

This late 19th century hotel has been completely renovated. View on a pleasant garden. A good address. The ultra-comfortable beds make for a super-resourceful night. The breakfast is largely up to the standard of a three-star hotel. In the form of a buffet, you can eat for the whole day or almost! A team with the small care, a hotel well located, clean rooms, really a place where to stop if necessary. Animals allowed. Restaurant where we eat very well. Private parking for 200 NOK per day. These rorbu, or fishermen's huts, are small chalets refurbished to accommodate tourists who wish to stay several days on the Lofoten. As an added bonus, a unique setting on the waterfront in the charming village of Kabelvåg. Each hut is nicely decorated and has its own bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. The price includes breakfast, wifi and parking, with the possibility to recharge electric cars. A restaurant of traditional cuisine is also accessible, also very well located!

The Thon Hotel chain, which owns hotels throughout Scandinavia and the Netherlands, is at the helm of this large glass building ideally located on Halden harbor. The 88 rooms, like the hotel as a whole, are uniquely comfortable. From the standard room to the royal suite, there's something for everyone. What could be better than waking up facing the sea, or better still, the Fredriksten fortress? An establishment which, even if it's not the most picturesque, is a safe bet and highly recommended.

Lost in the middle of the mountains, this restaurant is also a souvenir shop. The establishment is very popular with tourists and is an old factory for the production of candles and a dairy. A couple bought the buildings 15 years ago. The place is typical: The restaurant serves the evening of Norwegian meals. The hotel, made of small wooden houses, is the reconstitution of a former Norwegian village. The rooms are large, comfortable and different from each other with bathroom but without TV. It is nice to stay there overnight. In this case, the best is to rent a car, because no buses go there so that the place is isolated. The concept is original, and one feels like a Norwegian peasant of the th century.

A large hotel located in the centre of Haugesund, on the Smedasundet. Here you can enjoy the excellent cuisine in the restaurant overlooking the water. There is also a lounge for relaxing with a coffee and a fitness room. Possibility to check-in yourself directly from their tablets at the entrance of the hotel, a bit special but convenient in case of very late arrival for example. Comfortable beds, friendly and smiling staff, good breakfast.

Located in the old fashioned Nygård Park Street area, the turn of the century style of this small bourgeois hotel has been well preserved. The white façade overlooks the small pond in the green park where swans swim. Inside, beautiful stained glass windows. Check-in between 3pm and 11pm (possibility of arriving later by notifying them). Check-out at 11am, they can keep your luggage during the day. No lift. Good breakfast in the morning, wifi access.
