Traditional Tiger festival. For ten days, girls and women sing and dance and receive gifts and money.

This traditional Tigrayan festival is celebrated in Tigray, Eritrea, and also in Addis Ababa, particularly in 2023, as it had not been held for three years due to the war. For ten days in August, Tigrayan girls and women don traditional white cotton dresses, jewelry and hairstyles typical of the region. They sing and dance in front of the houses, where people give them food and drink, money and gifts, which they then give to the poorest. The tradition predates Christianity.
