ASAHNA BUCHA

This festival commemorates the first sermon of Buddha and is celebrated throughout the country with prayers and candlelight processions in the vicinity and within the temples. If you are visiting Isaan in July, don't miss the Candlelight Festival. It marks the opening of the Buddhist Lent. Each monastic community makes real sculptures of giant size, in special wax (more resistant to heat), chiseled with very elaborate designs really extraordinary.
